Residential and Commercial Interior Design: Tbektu Design + Development, LLC has a unique ability for providing spaces that function well for clients, are environmentally-sensitive, beautiful and timeless. Owner, Teresa Beck, believes spaces should not only support the basic activities and needs of the inhabitants of those spaces--they should also provide an experience--our lives should be enriched daily just by being in our spaces. Teresa's keen attention to detail ensures the incorporation of elements that please the eye and also consider the way people move in a space, now and in the future. Ms. Beck began her career in interior design at the former David & Associates, Ltd. (a commercial firm) in Phoenix, AZ in 1983. In 1985 she opened her own design firm in Columbia, TN (Interiors, Inc.) and in 2005 added property development to her repertoire. Thus, her former interior design business became Tbektu Design + Development, LLC. Forty years of experience and over 350 hours of continuing education have afforded Ms. Beck the understanding of the common needs of people and, more importantly, the unique needs of individuals. Tbektu (tee' bek too) Design + Development, LLC's mission is to provide clients designs with a "mindful concept for living"--mindful of the current and future needs of occupants, mindful of the way humans move comfortably through spaces, mindful of minimum environmental impact, mindful of how we spend our time (low maintenance) and mindful of the impact of color and beauty on humans.

Tbdktu Design was so easy to work with and full of new ideas to make my space special but very livable. She came up with several choices for each area of renovation but totally left it up to me to make the final decision. Needless to say I’m very pleased with our final result.

Her talents not only lie in design but detail and working with the construction crews! Able to spot imperfections and address them immediately and resolve!! Worry free renovations due to all her concepts and experience!

Teresa Beck is extremely talented and very professional. I have worked with her on a bath remodel as well as a new construction project. I was very pleased with the bath remodel, the new kitchen and bath plans, and whole house lighting plan. Her knowledge of Design and construction is a winning combination. Her attention to detail, her problem solving skills, and her fun personality make her a joy to work with. I highly recommend her.

Teresa was very efficient and professional. She completed several projects for our house including pool house kitchen and bath; main kitchen and master bathroom! She has a wonderful eye for functional design that is current. She included hand rails and wheelchair accessible areas for future use!! She incorporated our color scheme and took it to the next level!! She was always available and extremely reliable! Would definitely use her for future projects!! We have recommended her to numerous friends!!

Our project was the complete gutting and remodeling of a very outdated, uncomfortable and unappealing 1984 house into which we were downsizing. We hired Teresa Beck to completely redesign, oversee and manage the project. She really understood what we were looking for, and was always always to listen to our ideas, suggestions and questions. Her professionalism was extraordinary, and her vast knowledge about products, her efficiency, her attention to ALL of the tiny details involved in a project like this, but especially her wonderful design eye made for a marvelous experience. Her financial and timing estimates were so carefully done, and proved to be extremely accurate. Her construction drawings and elevations were fabulous, and a made the work so much more efficient for the contractor and subs. These drawings also made it very easy for us as clients to see exactly what was going to be done, and how it would look, and therefore easy to fine tune. She was always accessible, and terrific fun to work with. We really enjoyed this project and are loving the final result. I cannot recommend her more highly.

I have had Teresa design two kitchens for me and was very pleased. She is very organized and prompt. If I have a problem, it is her problem. I am amazed with her attention to detail. I have been very pleased with her use of lighting in the kitchen. I was young during the first kitchen makeover but she adjusted for the eyes to age and the need for more lighting. My second kitchen was at a river house and the budget was much smaller and she made that one look fantastic too. I am always complimented on my kitchens. She has picked out lots of fabrics for me and I rarely don't like what she has presented. I highly recommend Teresa Beck.
