SIESTA International Associates

Siesta International Associates(SIA)は、HAPPINESSを合言葉に、活動を行っている建築デザインユニット。多数の海外ブランドのPROJECTの経験をいかした独自のデザインシステムを活用した新しい空間への挑戦を実践。楽しい空間の提案、新しい和の創造や廃材、端材を利用したプロダクトの開発など。ここちよい、使いやすい、それでいて生活が楽しくなる、そんなものづくりを心がけささまざまな活動に携わっている。設計事務所を経て、１９８８年より、イタリアブランドのデザインに携わり、２００２年イタリアS.spa社の極東地区、店舗開発＆プロジェクトマネジャーを担当、フィレンツェの設計設計事務所Studio63(Piero Angelo氏,Massimo De氏)と共に、アジア極東地区の出店プロジェクトに携る。その後、「HAPPINESS」を合い言葉に、クリエイティブユニット「siesta-international-associates」（SIA） を結成。現在、海外出展プロジェクトのオーガナイズやプロデュース、リノベーション提案、インテリア、建築、プロダクト,グラフィックデザイン～ブランディング等、プロジェクトマネージャーとしてあらゆるクリエイティヴワークに従事している。 代表作には、レブユニットによる「移式茶室空間「どうらく庵]」や「ORGANIC FRAME」をテーマした家具「TOMODACHI」のブランディング等ある。 現在、活動範囲をミラノまで、広げ、さらに、来年には、NYでも活動予定。 ２０１０年、ミラノ　フォーリサローネ、Picnicに参加「douraku-ann」発表。 ２０１３年、日本の伝統産業の可能性を追求し、その素晴らしさを海外にも発信することを目的に、デザインイベント“TuTuMu exhibition in Milano.を企画、ミラノで開催。２０１４年、ミラノ フォーリサローネ、「douraku-ann」CORVACEタイプ発表。２０１５年、環境を考える企画展exhibition MOTAINAI　MILANOにて発表。２０１５年、TuTuMu exhibition in Milan3rd開催、和紙ミュージアムショップをオープン。イタリアのデザインに魅了され、この刺激しつづける街で、和の文化やジャパンデザインを発信している。また、専門学校、大学講師を歴任し、デザインレクチャーや学生デザインシンポジウム開催し、若手育成にも取り組み、2015年１月には、「暮らしのHint&Idea展」を企画、プロデュース、日々、精力的に活動中。 第一工業大学　建築デザイン学科 S.I.LAB/教授 S.I.LAB(Daiichi Institute of Technology Design Project） SIESTA International Associates　Koji Sakai (Lisensed First Class Architect) West Japan area sub leader of Japan Interior Designers' Association Motto: "SIA × DESIGN = HAPPINESS" With experience at an architectural firm since 2002,Mr. Koji Sakai has now become the leader of store development for the fareast sector at Sixty, a company based in Italy.In collaboration with the Italian architectural firm Studio63,he has opened concept stores in HongKong, Taiwan, and Tokyo. In 2004,based around the core valie of “Happiness”. he formed Creative Unit Siesta International Associates,which engages in various types of creative work,such as graphic design to interior design, architecture, video, product development, LED light installations, etc.Mr. Sakai is also a part-time design school lecturer.His published work has received numerous awards. He is currently the director of Siesta International Associated (SIA), a first-class architectural firm.He announced Douraku-ann in Milan in 2010.He organized and held the TuTuMu exhibition in Milan2013.This project is run by Washilife Corporation (Japanese paper manufacturer in Kyoto, Japan) and creators in Japan.
