Shelley & Company Interior Design

Shelley helped our community to update the interior of our 5 story condo complex. She chose wall color and carpet while leaving other original details intact due to available funds for the project. She created a much more current version of what we had even with these minimal changes. A vast improvement was accomplished bringing our building up to today’s design standards.

Shelley designed our condo building makeover and explicitly indicated that she did not take the light into consideration because she is “not a light engineer.” The walls and carpet are mismatched and the carpet “design” is puzzling at best. She was kind enough to let us know that if we had a larger budget, she could have done something attractive. White walls and any carpet would have been better than what we got. Run, don’t hide from her commercial services.

I worked with Sarah from Shelley & Company on the redesign of my nursery to a “big boy” room for my son. She was wonderful to work with throughout the process - she nailed my desired aesthetic (and I didn’t give her much to work with!) and was prompt and thoughtful throughout the process. I love how everything turned out, and most importantly, so does my son!

I had the opportunity to work for Shelley for a few years! As you can see in her portfolio, she is an amazing, very talented and experienced designer. It's often the business side of Interior Design that can makes or breaks the clients experience. I have seen first hand how task oriented and organized Shelley is with all aspects of her business. She always carries herself in a fun, happy and professional manner!

Shelley Cahan and Company worked on our Willow Glen custom home. She was responsible for creating an authentic "Spanish Colonial" design. The end result of the home has been amazing. The creativity and eye to detail has earned the house one of the nicest new homes in San Jose. Shelley and her team allow the home owner to design within a budget while keeping creativity and beauty. Shelley is a delight and has a can do attitude which is infectious and inspirational - hallmarks of her designs.

Shelley is adorable! She's reasonable, easy to work with, super fast, and has great taste. I've worked with Shelley several times and she has always gotten my best work out of me. She's given me great direction and trusts me to do an incredible job. She is my favorite designer to work with, and I've worked with 25+ designers over the years. She makes decisions easily and fast, and does not waste you or her time. And, I'm going to tell you, in the end, that's what's going to get you the bang for your buck. We did SF Showcase House 2014 together, a yoga room, a several kids rooms, a couple custom paintings, and a public playroom. She has gotten my best work out of me, for the best price, that's what you want in a designer. I also know her personally through friends, she's got a great family, and has solid values.

We first met ... Shelley's husband (he help us find our cool space we love so much). Then Shelley and her husband started to collect art pieces from the Lost Art Collection. Soon enough, Shelley's talent in interior design exploded. We love collaborating with Shelley as an art resource. We worked on several rooms she decorated for the SF Decorator Showhouse. She's the friendliest designer ever, so easy to collaborate with and with the sharpest eye when it comes to design.

I have worked with and have known Shelley Cahan for the past 10 years. She is not only a fabulous designer, but also a great friend, and my absolute design mentor. Shelley's work is incredibly detailed, yet clean and sophisticated. She has mastered the concept of blending styles, patterns, and colors in a way that sets her apart from other designers. Her work is inspiring, refreshing, and unique, without sacrificing comfort. Aside from her work, she is an amazing person with great energy and integrity! I can say, without a doubt, that she is a pleasure to work with!!!

I've hired Shelley on 3 projects to date. The first was my San Francisco loft, the second was for my Post Production offices and the most recent was for my home in San Rafael. Shelley is a great "co-creator". She has an amazing ability to "visualize the completed project" and i would definitely hire her again on my next project. Most recently, we used both Houzz and Pinterest to create "vision boards" to create the theme for my San Rafael home which was "HOLLYWOOD MEETS THE BEACH"

Shelley is an amazing designer. I've worked with her for about 7 years, and am continually impressed with her ambition, and creative abilty to pull looks together flawlessly. She has an extemely good eye for style. She is very easy to work with; friendly & approachable, while always staying professional. Shelley is great at time management as well, I've never known her to miss a deadline. Her discipline, attention to detail, and great aesthetic mesh perfectly, and make her a great designer to work with.

Shelley & Co are fantastic to work with. She has great vision and exceeded all my expectations. She is very organized and a pleasure work with. I truly can't say enough great things about her and her team. Peter M.
