My husband and I recently hired Segal & Wilmot to decorate our children's bedrooms. Our 8 year old son was excited to have his own bedroom for the first time, and our 5 and 3 year old daughters were excited to become roommates. Not only are we thrilled with the end result, but the entire process was smooth and fun. Carol and Ellen made a point of understanding what our goals were for the two bedrooms and they also made sure the rooms reflected our children's personalities. The furniture and fixtures they found are great quality and did not break the bank. They oversaw the project from start to finish to make sure every detail fell into place. Adult friends and family members are impressed with the end result, and more importantly our kids are ecstatic! Our son is so proud to show his room off to his friends, and he told us he wants to live in his room forever!

Segal & Wilmot are a dream team! They helped me redo my library and two bedrooms. While I knew what I liked, I did not have a vision for the rooms which S&W helped me design. They were able to listen closely and work with me to achieve a vision that I didn't even know I had! They are so easy to work with and I always felt that my happiness was their primary concern. I was also impressed with their efficiency and versatility in tackling my jobs. I never felt taken advantage of and I appreciated their patience with me. Their services included color consultation, furniture selection and layout, window treatments, lighting selection, and artwork and accessories selection. They are fabulous to work with and both extremely knowledgeable and efficient. I really appreciated their innate sense of design and adaptability to any style. We ended up with a finished product that feels like our taste and our home (only much better). Ellen and Carol helped us to create rooms that are not only beautiful but extremely functional. I live in an older home with lots of “quirky charm” (read: uneven floors, awkwardly sized rooms, and a big old accordian that my husband insists must stay in the living room). I resisted working with a designer for many years, but when I met Ellen Wilmot and Carol Segal I had a hunch that they would “get” me. Boy, was that hunch right. I hired them to help with my living room, and was so happy that we went on to do my dining room and sunroom/den. Here’s what I found in working with Ellen and Carol: (1) they are great listeners; (2) they are absolutely dedicated to my happiness with the project; (3) they are beyond generous with their time; (4) they have a great eye and vision; (5) they are ever-mindful of budget, even restraining me on more than one occasion. These are warm, intelligent, articulate and talented professionals, who make me feel more like family than client. They were able to take my vague descriptions -- words like “eclectic,” “warm,” “colorful,” “California” – and translate those descriptions into rooms that speak to my own blend of what home means. The biggest surprise was being invited into their own homes and finding that their own tastes were far different from each other’s and my own. I have no doubt that Carol and Ellen have the versatility, information and resources to create any style of room.

I have worked with Segal & Wilmot on several large projects in my home, including my bedroom, living room and kitchen remodel. I have also consulted with Segal & Wilmot (Carol and Ellen) regarding smaller projects like paint selection, curtain selection and revamping my fireplace. On all projects large and small, this team of professionals has inspired and directed me, and the results have been EXACTLY what I hoped for! Things I love: Carol and Ellen have fantastic taste and the creativity and confidence to mix it up a little -- I'm eclectic and like a combination of vintage and contemporary pieces and styles. Carol and Ellen were able to tap into my style and help me find pieces that satisfied my budget and my space. Carol and Ellen are also paint color experts, so their insight and selection has saved me from many mistakes. When it came to choosing cabinets, floor tiles, granite and a backsplash for my new kitchen, I relied entirely on their direction. Thank goodness!!! This was not an easy project, as my kitchen is galley style and attached to two rooms in an open floorpan, so I really needed advice with colors/choices/styles that would compliment the floor as a whole. I hired Ellen and Carol of Segal & Wilmot Interior Design to develop a color palette for repainting the interior of my entire condo. The process of working with them was stress free. They arrived at our appointment on time, listened carefully and explained their suggestions. Carol and Ellen guided me through the process of color selections, which quality and brand of paint to use, and even suggested a fantastic painter. The results of their recommendations were fabulous. The colors are gorgeous; all of them fit beautifully together, and I feel as though I'm walking into a new home! Thanks so much for a wonderful job!

I hired Carol Segal from Segal & Wilmot to help me update the look of my family room. My existing furniture was high quality so I only needed to re-upholster with new fabrics. Carol provided a choice of fabrics which blended perfectly and have enhanced the room. I receive compliments from everyone who visits my home and, best of all, I love the look and feel of it. Carol has a very good aesthetic sense; working with her has been a great experience and I would happily refer Segal & Wilmot Interior Design to friends and family. When my wife and I moved into a new house in the suburbs, we hired Carol and Ellen to help us with the interior design. They were wonderful about factoring in our budget. They also presented us with options each step of the way, all of which were well thought out and attractive. We were thrilled with the end result! We now have a gorgeous master bedroom, living room, and dining room, and we definitely plan to use their services again in the future!

Carol and Ellen took an old and dingy one bedroom apartment and transformed it into a stylish, colorful and very livable home for my mother. The style is not overwhelming but tasteful; the colors work well together and they chose unique pieces of furniture which are useful and make a statement. They have very good eyes for color and design. I would recommend them to anyone who needs some help making their home beautiful.
