Beyond bringing everything together, our guests are as comfortable as if it’s relaxed fine hotel. To top it off, we are aging in place surrounded by fine art, heirloom pieces and can entertain at the drop of a hat. Sandy Schargel interiors created a more elegant and smoother flow to our daily living. It was a respectful collaboration and well worth the time and investment.

Last year Sandy guided the remodeling of my kitchen and master bathroom. Sandy had helped us with the deign of our home at multiple stages, and we’ve been so happy. She helped us choose flooring and hire reliable flooring installers. She also helped choose the paint for our home and had some inspired ideas for including beautiful colors! She’s also given us advice for blinds and furniture and her advice is always spot on. She’s professional, responsive, prompt, and wonderful to work with. I can’t wait to hire her again for the next phase of housing decoration!

I hired Sandy to guide me through a complete renovation of the master bathroom. We established a great working relationship from the very beginning. She provided me with valuable suggestions on every detail including bathroom layout, materials, color scheme, fixtures, lights, and mirrors. She personally met with me at the suppliers business to review and select tile, bathroom fixtures, vanity lights, granite but always included me in the decision making process so the end result reflected my taste. She works with an excellent construction contractor so there were really no problems of significance during the construction.. Now that the bathroom construction is complete she is assisting me in the finishing touches such as window covering, accents, and wall decor. Sandy recently helped us with some very extensive renovations. I originally hired her for a two hour paint color consultation, but I was so impressed with her professionalism and her sense of style that I decided to have her help me with the entire project. And I'm glad I did. She gave me ideas for wall colors, kitchen and bathroom design, innovative lighting, and so much more. The best thing about Sandy is that she worked with my own style preferences, never imposing her own tastes, but gently guiding me towards ways to incorporate my own sense of style in my renovations. We were lucky to find Sandy at the beginning of our house built. We had never built a custom house before and were overwhelmed with all the decisions that had to be made. Adding to the challenge we were building from a far. Sandy was very helpful every step of the way and used all her connections to help us come up with the design of our home. Without her expertise we would not have been able to built the house of our dreams. Several rooms in our home were being used for storage. Sandy helped us convert them into functional spaces. With her help, we converted the sun room off our great room into a home office. After moving from a large home in Knoxville, TN to a rental apartment in albuquerque, I knew I would need all the help I could find to create a space that looks attractive and feels comfortable, inviting and refined. From our first meeting she showed enthusiasm for the task ahead and demonstrated her amazing skills, her intelligence and perception to create the sanctuary I was hoping for. We overcame goods shortages, wrong deliveries, damaged merchandise; through it all Sandy persisted to find the right pieces, advocated for me, got great discounts that helped my bottom line and completed the project in short time. Sandy Shargel's associate Joyce Montgomery worked with us to add the final touches to our home, both inside and on our patio. We needed someone with an excellent eye for color who would listen to us and suggest items that would complement our style. We also needed assistance completing our backyard, including finding a landscape architect to suggest additional plants and greenery. I can't say enough about Sandy. She is AWESOME!!!! We are in a new home but didn’t like the options for the master bath. So we did their standard and hired Sandy to help us come up with a better look. She listened to our wants and designed a fabulous new vanity with all of the drawers we need. And then Sandy took her time with us at the tile store to help us pick out tiles that are very different from the standard ‘developer’ style yet still in our price range. Our new master bath is gorgeous and practical - better than I expected. We have happily recommended Sandy to friends.

Sandy is your advocate. Unfortunately, while she is highly professional and sensitive to your needs, she sometimes works with people who are slow to deliver a quality product. I recommend paying up front for a bigger fee than by the hour. Would I hire her again? Yes, in a heartbeat!

One concern we faced when deciding to move from a large home to a senior apartment was "what to do with our vast art collection. Covid was in full force and finding someone to help us navigate our collection could have been disastrous, but we've seen Sandy Schargel's work and decided to give her a call. Soon after viewing a "like" apartment, things began to close down, she asked me to send photos of our favorite pieces...and from there Sandy went to town designing a wall with custom glass shelves with sleek contemporary chrome brackets to fit each individual sculpture. Honestly, she re-created the essence of what we had in our home. Sandy is quite talented and a delight to work with.

Sandy was great to work with. Her vision to streamline my living room by creating shelving, enlarging the appearance of the fireplace, removing oversized furniture and introduce complimentary colors has lighten up the space and feels much more relaxing, comfortable, and inviting. I could not be more thrilled.

Sandy Schargel is a gifted interior designer. I asked her to come in and "eyeball" our new home -- I think of myself as a person who is fairly good at placing furniture and art, but I learned a lot from Sandy! Within 48 hours of her visit we had re-done our outdoor area and made it much more inviting, and we have ideas from Sandy for longer-term projects that will make it even better. In our interiors, Sandy solved a couple of problems I'd had, but perhaps more importantly, she gave me confidence that choices I'd made worked well. Some of Sandy's fixes weren't obvious to me -- for example, who knew that the sarong I'd purchased in the South Pacific and used as a table cover was "fighting with" the lamp over our dining table? I'd missed that! Sandy also opened my eyes to a possible rearrangement of our living/family room that I never would have considered, but definitely SHOULD. And she has resources for purchasing the things I need to truly make this new house a home. I've been perusing Sandy's newsletters for awhile now; I am so glad I had her come out and give us a detailed consult! I would not hesitate to challenge Sandy with any interior issues that are bothering you -- if nothing else, she'll give you confidence that your choices are good ones before you make a big investment in the interior you will be enjoying every day for a long time.

When we decided to update our kitchen, we knew that Sandy was the person to get in touch with. We live in Charleston, SC and Sandy has helped us decorate our home and has visited many times from Albuquerque. We turned to her once again when we wanted to totally renovate our kitchen and hoped that she could assist us. Because of COVID-19, she could not visit. Using FaceTime, the internet, photos Sandy sent and hours of conversation we accomplished everything. From April to mid-October Sandy worked with us every step of the way. We found a contractor and Sandy assisted in laying out the kitchen design, giving suggestions and details that we had not thought about. Sandy sent us lighting, backsplash photos - we shopped for counter tops, backsplash tiles and lighting and sent Sandy photos for her approval - or not. Sandy is so delightful to work with. We could not have made our move to Albuquerque without her. We purchased our property in November, but couldn't move until the following July. Being 1000 miles away, we relied on Sandy a lot! She visited our new property and face-timed with me, making suggestions for updates and repairs. She has years of experience and suggested professionals she has worked with for each job that needed to be done. It was such a relief to know we could hire people that Sandy had already vetted through years of experience. She helped me pick out paint colors, blinds, fixtures and furniture, all remotely. Our project was a kitchen remodel including new cabinets plus redesign/additions, hardware, backsplash tile. Sandy is a delight both as a designer and human being! She is creative, responsive, energetic, efficient and never lets the stress of a project break her stride. Also impressive is that she can work any style depending on what is desired. My husband and I moved to ABQ in June of 2019 after living 60+ years in the SF Bay Area. The move itself was hard enough at our ages, but the idea of decorating a New Mexico pueblo was way over our pay grades! I googled interior designers and, probably due to my past relationship with Houzz, Sandy Schargel popped up. I gave her a call and had her come to the house one week after we moved here. All she had to work with at the time were hundreds of unpacked boxes and furniture and art work lined up against walls. Yet, despite all this, she managed to come up with a vision for our house. Today, we are nearly done with the project and we couldn't be happier. Sandy managed to find a place for most of the furniture we brought with us. We added a couple of new pieces and did some fancy painting on selected accent walls. She found a spot for all of our artwork and each piece is a show piece. Nothing was hidden away. We love the outcome! I would like to add that working with Sandy is an absolute delight. She is a mountain of patience and has a wonderful attitude. She never criticizes customer choices, but somehow, in the end, has her way ... and in each case, it was always the right choice! This is just phase one of our overall re-design. We plan to have her back in the spring to finish the rest. I highly recommend Sandy Schargel!!!

Sandy's website gave me all the information I needed to hire her. I emailed her on the weekend and she contacted me the next day. Sandy's fees are a great value for the services received and she offers further savings with her package rates. From the minute Sandy entered my house she was engaged and knowledgeable. I know what I like but I have no idea how to put it all together. Sandy's vision for my family room after meeting with me has been more beautiful than I could imagine. Sandy has also given me great advise for what to hang on my walls, how high to hang items and how to display my little collections in each room. Not sure words will be enough to express my complete and total satisfaction for the work Sandy has been able accomplish. This project was beyond complex as I was living in Calif when I purchased my new house in New Mexico and I needed to turn everything over to Sandy to ensure when I did in fact make the move, I’d be walking into a new home with everything completed…no joke it included everything down to a new kitchen sink! When I say everything, it is not an understatement: new paint, new hardware on all the doors, shelving in the garage, new light fixtures throughout, hanging of 2 ea. 82 in. TVs with all the electronics connected, new furniture including master bedroom, guest room, leather love seats, recliner, wall mounted (master) and floor entertainment centers, did I mention new beautiful black kitchen sink and accompanying black faucet? This and so much more! Honestly, I could go on and on about all the things she accomplished while I was in CA planning the actual physical move. When I finally drove to my newly constructed house that I had basically purchased on line I was beyond surprised and pleased. Her timing and efficiency took a brand-new house and converted it, in just days after the close of escrow, into my warm and friendly new home! 5 stars….NO... 10 stars!!!

My husband and I did an approximately 2 hour consult with Sandy for a living room project. She came with lots of energy and ideas, and I was impressed with how engaged she was. Her experience shows and she seemed to have a thorough knowledge of interesting and unique local sources to get home decor. Eventually we decided to go a different direction (were looking for a little more global/eclectic) but we appreciated her thoughts and efforts. Please be aware that unlike some other interior designers, Sandy charges for the initial consultation. Just remember to ask for prices/fee schedule up front. She is very pleasant to work with.

Sandy was great to work with and very reliable. I couldn't decide on the proper lighting needed in our Great Room and kitchen and colors for the fireplace re-do and master bedroom. We did not always choose her suggested color, but her suggestions led us to the just-right colors for us. Most helpful were her recommendations for reliable, good quality contractors and painters. The new LED recessed lighting with dimmers in the Great Room and kitchen can really lift my mood---perfect lighting for whatever task or event. We now have a beautiful terra cotta fireplace with a custom wood mantle that fits perfectly with our furniture and artwork. Our sage green master bedroom with white drapes and linens is now a Zen place for us. Our first night in the completed room, my husband said, "Wow, this is so peaceful! What a difference the color makes!" He was so correct.

Sandy helped me create a haven by completely transforming a basic box in my post WWII bungalow into an elegant room that reflects my personality. Great color scheme. “Oh, wow!” has been the universal response of friends and family. She worked within my budget, always on the lookout for ways to save money without sacrificing style. She also assisted by recommending trades people from painters to woodworkers and she met with them to see that the project went according to plan. Her attention to detail is astounding. I love her enthusiasm and down-to-earth personality and look forward to working with her again when I am ready to tackle the next room.

Sandy proved to be indispensable in our long distance home improvement project (we live in another city and the home is in Albuquerque). She is a great listener and works to understand your style preferences, and kindly offers suggestions and advice when the homeowner may not know to ask. She was diligent and responsive, and we were able to make design selections from afar using email and texts. She has a book of contractors and design tools that enabled us to achieve our desired results at an affordable cost. Sandy is priceless, and is lovely to work with. If we could give Sandy ten stars we would, but since we can't, will settle for five! It was very easy to work with her, as she was always open to hear what we wanted. It is never easy to combine the very different tastes of two people, but she was able to accomplish this and the result is nothing short of stunning! The sign of a great decorator is not someone who tells you to throw everything out and start over, but rather someone who works with the things you love and that have special meanings to you. Sandy did just that, and we now LOVE the home she crafted for us. It is updated and more modern, but still has all of the things we treasure in it, just displayed much nicer. I’m a full time contractor that has done several projects over the years with Sandy. She has such a great knack for simply walking into a room and coming up with a completely different feel of the space from where it once was. I was gutting and remodeling my bathroom - I was paralyzed into what design direction to take - I had so many design inspirations. Since I was spending so much on the bathroom, I didn't want to make any mistakes. Sandy worked with me to keep her costs down while helping me choose my design direction. The bathroom turned out beautifully. I also had a time finding a construction crew - you couldn't compare their estimates because they estimated different ways and their estimates were vague. I worked with the crew she recommended - they were very professional, did excellent work, kept the house clean, and finished in a timely manner. They were very responsive to my calls or texts. Both Sandy and the construction crew did a great job. My bathroom looks like something from a magazine. Very up-to-date and functional. I would hire her again.

Sandy was the right designer for us because she has a fine sense of color. I spent months trying to come up with a color scheme for our living room that wouldn't clash with the family room, and she came up with one almost immediately. She also had us convert the little-used room to a library with built-in bookcases and modern leather recliners. The tall bookcases have made the room seem brighter and larger. We're very pleased.

We needed to do an entire bathroom remodel in a house we had just purchased and didn't know where to begin since it required major work including moving plumbing. Sandy brought in her contractor and the three parties met at the property to view the space and job. We discussed various layouts and design and then waited several days for the bid estimate. We were extremely happy with the process and the estimate so moved forward with the job. Sandy is the ultimate professional. Her design skills are top notch and her understanding of the technical aspects of construction combine to make for a successful project . She took me to visit suppliers of materials that we would need for the project and offered recommendations for the best quality materials at the best prices. Sandy also guided me with design suggestions that met my personal design desires but also kept me current with design trends all while also saving me money. A great combination! She was a delight to work with and I enjoyed the time we spent together working on our project. The end result was a well-designed, gorgeous new bathroom that fit all of our requirements. We found Sandy on the Houzz website. We searched this website as we had great success in finding an architect there. We contacted Sandy through the Houzz website and immediately received a response. And she has continue to be very responsive. Sandy has been wonderful in helping us see things we couldn't see for ourselves. For example, we were treating one room in our house as a "living room" but we had no place for our many books. She helped us see this room as a "library" instead and after purchasing bookcases we have transformed the room. She helped us think about art to fill the many walls and niches in our new house. Sandy, has worked tirelessly to make my New Mexico house a home. She demonstrated commitment to understanding my vision and bringing it to life. Given that I'm not currently living in the state, Sandy and her team have overseen every phase of my project. I recently worked with Sandy on a project. Her clients are in the process of remodeling their kitchen and we were tasked with fabricating and installing the new quartzite countertops, Taj Mahal. Sandy was very professional while also being very personable. It was obvious that Sandy had a very good relationship with her clients and that they placed a very high value on her expertise. Sandy helped my husband and I with downsizing from a 2700 sq ft home to a 1350 sq ft retirement apartment. She had many wonderful decorating ideas and contacts for refinishing some antiques that I had and some upholstering. She also organized the move on moving day and had my curio cabinet set up, books in the bookcase, and kitchen set up. She did a lot of the leg work and really listened to what I wanted, and in the process we had a lot of fun doing it too!! She is a hard worker, does not waste any time, and things get done quickly. I hired her for about 40 hours total, not including emails and several phone calls and texts. The total budget was around $3,000. She saved me so much stress and my new apartment is beautiful even with an accent wall painted in purple (my favorite color) .
