Kim stepped in when another designer from another company dropped the ball. Kim’s creative abilities and superb resources saved the day in helping us finish our home and guest house. We were able to stay in budget, procure amazing pieces and materials, and finish the project on schedule. Will never use anyone else for future projects!

Kim transformed my almost 20 year old master bedroom and bathroom into a modern elegant suite! Her expertise was instrumental in helping us from redesigning the layout to picking paint, tile and decor! Kim helped me create a beautiful space in my four season room that had been sitting empty for two years. She was able to find furniture that could get wet when it rains while still looking like cozy living room furniture. I purchased a couch and two swivel chairs that I love. She also selected tables, lamps and pillows that really complemented the space. She was quick to respond to my calls and texts and kept me updated throughout the process. She took all the guesswork out of it and I am thrilled with my new living space.

Kim was integral in helping us to make the myriad decisions that come with building a custom home. Before building our home, my husband and I purchased a piece of artwork that displayed the color scheme that we wanted for the home. With the artwork as a starting point, Kim was able to assist us with our selections of paint and stain colors, tile, stone, countertops and furniture to bring together a wonderful blend of colors and textures that flow beautifully throughout the house. The furniture she selected is beautiful and completed a warm and comfortable home! Thanks so much Kim for helping us to keep our stress level to a minimum!

Did not do the job I hired her to do. She was eager to take my money, made sure my check cleared, then threw a few things in a bag and called it a presentation. I asked for window treatments for 5 rooms, she came with one fabric, and 3 pages out of a bedding catalog, and some rug samples. Told me it took her 4 hours to put it together.

As an interior design professional I take great care with all of my clients during initial design consultation to fully explain the scope of project and how my design services can help achieve the home of their dreams. It is disheartening to read this negative review as this is not the standard of service I provide my clients.

Baruth originally reached out to me and requested my services to help finish her new home; I was very excited to work with her to create a beautiful space. I visited the project, provided a design consultation, collected a retainer, and set a time to return with all of the items we discussed. The plan included rugs, furniture, case-goods, bedding, drapery, pillows, wallpaper, and artwork. Once I arrived back to her home with the samples based on our original consultation E. Baruth then informed me that she didn't want to use the vendor I had selected the samples from. This was odd but not a problem; I invited her to my studio to view other sample options together. Once she arrived to the studio, E. Baruth started making changes to the original scope of work and claimed that she wasn't going to pay the client cost of materials because she, too, was a design professional. This was a surprise to me, but also not a problem. I told E. Baruth that she could absolutely purchase the materials herself and use her professional tax id to receive the trade discount and that I would not charge her for the day's service if she wanted to pick out additional fabrics. This is where things really took a turn. She then demanded her design consultation fee back and I declined as we were already over the design hours in the original scope of work and retainer. This was an extremely disappointing interaction and I honestly have never felt so deceived from another professional in the industry.

It is truly my goal to help all of my clients achieve the home of their dreams and work hand-in-hand with them to do so. I place great value in open communication and that was unfortunately lacking in this interaction. I wish E. Baruth the best of luck with her project.

I hired R Designs to design, decorate and style our entire main floor. Kimberlie and her team were amazing to work with. She went above and beyond accommodating my schedule, and was always available, knowledgeable and helpful. She was able to make sure the designs were beautiful and functional to accommodate our large family. I loved how she added the extra detail to every area of the house. Kimberlie listened to my ideas and tastes and pulled together a vision that was gorgeous. I was amazed at how each room flowed so well into the next. Kim is very professional and pleasant to work with. I hired Kim as a paint consultant. She helped me choose a nice neutral color for my dining room, kitchen and living room. She also helped me pick a rug for my entry. We were very pleased with the final results.

My son and I first used Kim to decorate our new office building at The Great Western Mfg. Co. in Leavenworth. She did a great job with wall covering and hanging pictures both historical as well as new. My wife Martha and I then used Kim to select furniture to be moved from both our homes in Leavenworth to a villa we were moving to in Overland Park. She plan the room arrangements and provided many no items. Kim is great to work with. We especially appreciate the fact that she understood "no we don't like that". Her follow up with any problem was wonderful. I don't want to move again but if we did we would hire Kim and her associates. We are very pleased!

We had never hired an interior designer in the past, and after working with Kim, we will always do so in the future. We've lived in our house for nearly 25 years, and the one room that I never really liked was our dining room. Something just seemed not right with it, and I could never figure out how to make it work. I'm not a shopper, and the thought of going from store to store to select furniture with absolutely no idea as to what would look good was almost more than I could bear! Then I met interior designer Kim Rice. Kim looked at the style of our home and considered the furnishings we had in other rooms. She carefully took measurements of our dining room and recommended an area run and furniture that would be in proportion to the room. In addition to a mirror, lamps and decorative items, Kim selected beautiful artwork for the walls. She is energetic, opinionated (in a good way...I really wanted her to give me her honest assessment) and she listened very carefully to me and honored my preferences. The last piece of the project was selecting a chandelier. I absolutely love what we picked. It is the elegant "jewelry" that finishes the room. Now, after 25 years, I can honestly say that I love my dining room, and Kim actually made the whole process fun!

R Designs was highly recommended to me by a friend that was very pleased with the decorating for their new home. Thus prompted my call to Kim Rice. My all seasons porch was recently built but lacked the coziness I was hoping to achieve. Kim's first suggestion was rearranging the furniture which balanced the room and gave it a complete new look. We then selected fabric for recovering cushion upholstery, choose new lamps, additional accessories - adding all this to my existing furniture. I now have the perfect room I was hoping for along with a comfortable, cozy, relaxing area used daily. A new couch added to living room, along with sofa table, including rearranging existing furniture, and accessories, gave this room a beautiful, designer look. I appreciate Kim taking time to get to know ME, my preferences, favorite colors, listening to my suggestions, ideas, and working with existing furniture and accessories. Thanks Kim for designing my home to reflect me - it is absolutely perfect!

I worked with Kim on design suggestions for our new home. We focused on the kitchen and started with the light fixtures. I have a tendency to over think my decisions and Kim did a fabulous job of keeping me focused on classic and timeless selections that I will love for a very long time.
