Poppy Home Design

I hired Poppy Productions based off reviews on this page and a short phone call describing what my project and end goal was. Ideally, I would pay for a design of one room that I could keep and execute myself on my own timeline. the design was to include color and furniture that was matched to the size of our room. The fee for this consult and design was the equivalent of 5-6 hrs of work with comparable designers and the results that I was given was frankly insulting. it reminded me of when a contractor comes to your house and bids you a ridiculous amount because they don't want the job. The designer was clear to repeatedly tell me that the budget I had in mind for the room (10k) was too small and would achieve almost nothing. she gave me pencil sketches and what I would consider an hour of consult work in words. After some discussion about my satisfaction, I received a "mood board" with a few ideas and was reminded that this was more than 8 hrs of time and they usually charge more. I am working with another interior designer right now and the experience is night and day. the new one is very creative and flexible in my budget, she uses laser guided measurements to give me 3D renderings of my room with customized recommendations for furniture. she shows up with paint and color swatches and she has given us a lot more for the same value - including contractor recommendations with before and after photos of similar scoped jobs. my summary is this...I believe Poppy productions is good at staging and probably only comfortable with very, very large budgets. they lack experience in modern 3D imaging software tools and are using rather dated approaches that do require them to charge more for their time, with less value. I also believe their contract and consult should be much more clear of what they are providing and NOT providing so there is not such a gap in what their customers are getting from what they expected (especially for how much money they are asking for). I would not ever recommend them to any of my colleagues or friends and my overall experience was poor, but I learned my lesson the hard way. I did not by any measure that I can now confidently compare to other designers, receive interior design work that reflected the value of what I paid.

From the start to the finish, everyone, from the design team to the delivery team were fabulous! I would definitely recommend Poppy Productions!

Poppy Production is THE team to go to for all of your home decorating and party needs ! They redecorated my daughters room as a surprise over Christmas one year . She loved the updated look and I loved working with them . They listened to my ideas and pulled it all together very quickly. Very creative and helpful. We needed our home staged to sell. They were efficient and organized. Very reasonably priced. Worked within our budget restrictions for painting, and replacing things to update the house. Sold our house in 36 hours.

We started working with Monica Maslack to give our living room a refresh a couple of years ago. She took her time, got a sense of our style, our likes and dislikes, as well as our budget, and did a phenomenal job of helping us update the space. It's now a room we enjoy using everey day. Monica has a great sense of design and is so much fun to work with! She can help you find something at a big box furniture store, or is also very apt at suggesting more custom options. Monica responds in a timely manner and will help you no matter how big or small the request is. I can't recommend her and Poppy Production enough!

I had a very positive experience hiring Poppy Production to provide design advice for both an entry/living room and bedroom. I worked with Monica, and really liked that she was flexible and willing to do as little or as much as I needed. First, she helped me to come up with a plan. Then, she shopped for items I needed, provided advice about potential new purchases and paint colors, and helped to install art and rearrange pieces that I already had in my home. Monica has a great sense of style and eye for interesting design pieces, but she also worked around my style preferences and budget. I ended up with furniture and art that I love but would never have found on my own or thought to incorporate. I now have a more finished, functional, and stylish living space that really makes me happy, and I have gotten many compliments from guests as well.

Poppy Production was recommended by my realtor. I didn't have any previous experience with staging a property and I did not know what to expect. The folks at this company arranged the staging - move in and all. I was very impressed with the job well done. I kind of wish I hired them to decorate my apartment in the first place! After the condo sold, they quickly arranged for the furniture to be returned. They even paid the building fees (which I reimbursed) as a favor to me. Very helpful.
