October Designs by Priyanka

When we were looking for design ideas for our 4 bhk duplex, we were keen to collaborate with someone who gets our need for minimalism in "our" context. Minimalism means different things for different people. Priyanka got it spot on. It was refreshing to engage on an extended basis without an undue pressure to sign a commercial agreement. Priyanka invested a fair bit of time to understand our requirements and derive insights to our (my spouse and I) personalities (which greatly influenced the design). All of this without signing any commitments or contract. She promised a turnkey project for us and she delivered it. We had quite a few requirements which required an architectural mindset and interventions (right down to understanding load structures etc). It was not just an "interior design" requirement. Priyanka's formal training on architectural elements came through when she managed the conversations on our behalf. Her commercials were very transparent and well managed throughout the duration of the contract. What stood out though was her ability to get connected with series of artisans and bring designs/solutions for us that went beyond the usual. Through the course of our project, we too ended up learning a thing or two about designs and designers that we didn't know of. Btw, it was not just Priyanka but also her team of Abira and Rakshith as well as her contracting partner Satish (Space & Gravity). Let me not give an impression that the impact came through only via Priyanka. There are always complexities and surprises when it comes to delivering projects in India and ours was no different. I would not hold those surprises against October and I would acknowledge that their reactions/support on the surprises mitigated the pain significantly. It was an interesting project and a refreshing change from my experience when I got my previous house done. I would recommend October Designs if your design sensibilities match their design principles.

I reached out to Priyanka, after seeing her the interiors of the house that she had done for my friend. I was looking for someone who would design a very modern, minimal interior; a home that could be anywhere in the world. Priyanka's exposure to international homes and her leaning towards Scandinavian styles gave me conviction to go ahead with her. She understood my lifestyle and preferences and was able to design my interiors in a way that reflected my personality and sense of style. I had a broad understanding of what I liked, she was able to take from there and make the entire space personalised for me. Her ability to play with space, lights and attention to lifestyle details is exceptional. She was able to work around my timelines and respected my budget. She was very open to my reactions through the process and also encouraged me to try something outside my comfort zone. I am still getting enamoured by my home everyday and it feels it is made just for me. I could not have had a better home than this!!

We happened to meet Priyanka by chance, and what followed was nothing short of joy and happiness for us. When we were finalising an interior decorator in Chennai for our new home to be, Priyanka’s vision and ideas immediately appealed to us. She was very responsive and patient in answering all our questions. We loved the fact that she was very enthusiastic and full of life even before we had hired her!She had a great understanding of what we wanted. Her sense of aesthetics helped us envision our home in a way we could have never thought off ourselves! Even though she was located in Bangalore and us, in Chennai, she managed the cross location work seamlessly. She would frequently drop in on location to supervise every stage of the development personally. Priyanka has a great eye for detail. Every little thing was thought off and executed on time and perfectly! When family and friends visit, the first thing they tell us is that our home is right out of a magazine! Priyanka not only made our dream home warm, she made it opulent with her design ideas and execution. We loved her innovations and she would always be open to feedback from us. She would then again give us more options and ideas that would best suit our needs. From start till finish, Priyanka and her team were professional yet friendly. She was always honest with us from the very beginning. Most of us get only one chance to build a home. And we are mighty glad we found a visionary in Priyanka to deliver us our dream! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our home truly beautiful!

Priya is as thoughtful as she is innovative. She worked closely with me to design a beautiful living space that previously was inaccessible to the rest of the home. What she created was a room that was light, warm, and breezy and allowed me to overlook my beloved garden while still staying inside. Her use lighting and design made the room feel larger than it previously did, and whenever we have company over, they are always expressing their admiration of the room. Without question, I would hire her again for my next project, and hope to work with her again in the future.
