We asked Howark Design to oversee the restoration and redecoration of our family's home in the Greek islands. It was very important to us that while the house was updated we retained its unique character and they ensured this was their priority in all the suggestions they made. They were great to work with, providing clear and thorough information to the local contractor and keeping us informed throughout. We could not have achieved the wonderful mix of the original and new elements that work so well without the input from James and Saskia and we would highly recommend them.

We have recently used Howard Design to assist us with two renovation projects in Padstow, Cornwall. At Lantern House, a large property in the Old Town, Howark worked on floor planning for the conversion into 4 no. holiday apartments, paying attention to the architectural detailing and joinery design. Their role extended to schedules and specifications for finishes and fixtures. Throughout the project they co-ordinated with contractors and suppliers, delivering drawings and renders when required. Lantern House also included an old 2 bed cottage which was similarly renovated with Howark's assistance. The completed units were subsequently sold. Exbury House is an imposing 3 bedroomed Edwardian Home overlooking the harbour in Padstow. Howark Design assisted us in transforming the property into second home with a full package of floor planning, finishes, fixtures and furniture specifications that followed a brief to ensure the design was sympathetic to the period of the building. We have found Howark Design to singularly effective, expeditious and budget conscious. We continue to work with the company on other projects in Cornwall.

We have now worked with Howark design on a few projects and have always found them to be very informative & easy to work alongside. Their "High-End" projects have ranged from central London, Surrey & Cornwall of varying sizes with a high standard of design & extremely conscientious detail. I run Petrel Furniture, a fine cabinet making workshop dedicated to craftsmanship through traditional hand techniques and the use of British woods. I make fine standalone pieces for a select number of interior designers and for exhibition and galleries. I have had the pleasure of working with Saskia and James for several years on various residential projects, I was thrilled to hear about the creation of Howark and excited to see the first creative output from this talented duo. Last year, I was chosen to make several bespoke pieces for a residential Cornish beach house including a pair of ash dining benches and a live edge elm coffee table. I was given a detailed brief which included sketches, dimensions, finish and budget, I put the concept into shop CAD drawings and indicated several design and making options. Saskia and James both have excellent attention to detail and a broad understanding of furniture construction, I was able to present options and have detailed discussions on how best to make these pieces to meet the design brief. Quality craftsmanship and integrity of the raw materials were at the forefront, we even visited a specialist timber merchant together to select the Scottish elm for the coffee table. Although I represent only a small part of the work involved in designing and delivering an interior project, I am constantly surprised by the end result. To me, the real skill in interior design is how to bring many elements of material, colour, texture and detail together to deliver a natural inviting room that speaks to the individual, it is by this measure that I consider Howark to be exceptional.

I couldn't recommend Howark Design highly enough. We have worked with several designers over the years but had never had the privilege to work with such a great duo before. I couldn't fault them in any way and wouldn't even consider looking elsewhere if I was looking for a professional and dynamic team. We really enjoyed bringing their amazing designs to life. Howark Design assisted us with the layout optimisation of two newly created apartments above a shop in Teddington, South West London. Their input evolved to include the interior design theme, enhancing the sense of light and space but retaining the charm of the Victorian structure.
