On a professional level, she is profoundly creative, yet, has a functional style that is a perfect fit for our very active family's destination beach house, on Cape Cod. Helen has helped us, every step of the way, both with the redesign of old and new, as we converted an original 1780s windmill into a charming new beach home. The outcome was a blend of old and new - a transitional look that works beautifully and combines form and function. It came out great!

I have worked with Helen on a number of projects over several years from 2002-2008. I renovated my home in Chestnut Hill, where I took most of the rooms down to the studs and converted a screened porch to an office. She helped me design/decorate: living and dining room, family room, master bedroom, 2 guest bedrooms, my office,3 baths, kitchen as well as front entry/hallway/staircase/landing areas, She did a fabulous job. It is an elegant home but also very warm and comfortable. Helen has a superb eye for color and design. She knows what will "scale up" well and what will not. She has her list of preferred vendors as a result of years of experience so you can feel assured that the quality is excellent as is the service. Helen also listens well so she works with you on your needs and ideas as opposed to superimposing hers as so many designers have a tendency to do. She is also candid, though, in giving feedback if she thinks your idea will not really work/be to your liking. In brief, Helen is very professional, knowledgeable and delivers high quality results. She is sensitive to deadlines and budgets and will raise trade-offs with you as they occur. I am totally pleased with the results. I have received so many compliments on my "gracious and beautiful" home. I enthusiastically recommend Helen.

Helen Baker is nothing shy of brilliant in her inate ability to make everything beautiful. She has done, over many years, my house, two restaurants, One of which she redid 2 to three times over a history of 36 years, and a total loss due to a hurricane)....I have flown her to Florida to do two houses from scratch from construction to furnishings from top to bottom, right down to the toilet paper holders and magnificent hand pickled dining room chairs. Helen's strong suit is that she thinks out of the box. Her ideas don't come from the wholesalers and their showrooms, they come from an incredible sense of her own style and a mind that is brilliant. I use to be involved in her decisions....now I just say "do it" as I am so confident of her abilities. Another strong point, among many, is her quality....I still have things that she had made 30 years ago.
