Dovecote

Sarah Kaplan doesn't like the designation "owner." It isn't unique and in a store like Dovecote, which is, that won't do. So let's see, what shall we call her? Sarah started her career as a buyer for Neiman Marcus (European Sportswear) and Barney's New York (Barney's Private Label Collection). (Sarah Kaplan, "Fashionista"?) She then switched coasts and in Seattle opened her first store, Great Jones Home. Very different for its time, the store was featured in Met Home, Elle Decor, Country Home, Country Living, Coastal Living and HGTV. (Sarah Kaplan, "Visionary"?) Too much rain and too much grunge, though, brought Sarah back to the East Coast after the sale of Great Jones. And soon she found a great historic building in Westport, Connecticut in which to put store #2, Dovecote. (Sarah Kaplan, "Global Girl"?) In Dovecote, Sarah has created an incredible mix of mid-to-the-19th-and-beyond century furniture and furnishings. Traveling to Paris and the south of France six times a year, she finds the best antiques, from Bagues to Napoleon III. She offers design services for customers wanting more of her.
