He wanted to add a few items, ie: Bar Storage Cabinet, Floor & Table Lighting, Bar Stools, Bedroom Dresser & (2) 8 X 10 Rugs, with a given budget of no more than $5K. He did not spend $10K, we were mindful regarding his budget, given that he didn’t know how long he would be renting there. As, an Interior Design Firm, we do not sell low quality Furniture, however, we do vendor reputable brands at discounted prices. Mr. Wallace was presented options and purchased items from Global Views, Sunpan Furniture, Hooker Furniture and Uttermost. He was given samples to touch and feel One of the Rugs that he purchased was from Global Views he LOVED the geometric design and pop of color, since everything in his apartment was black and white by his choice. He was thrilled with the way we worked, he claimed, it was so convenient, since he has such a busy work schedule.
It wasn’t until his Girlfriend came over to his home, after his Residential Delivery, that we had received an email that SHE thought everything that he had purchased was awful and he wanted to return everything immediately! Mind you, she was never involved with the project and we never even met her, so, if her opinion was so important and would influence his end result, than, she should have been involved from the very beginning. She was never mentioned once, prior to receiveing his purchases!
She claimed the Rug (below) was “hideous and hard to look at”. He claimed that the Dresser & Floor Lamps were damaged, not true at all. The (Hooker) Dresser that he had purchased (below) had a wood grain texture to the finish, it wasn’t damage. Everything was in perfect condition when we left the delivery. Regarding his explanation of the “Room Results”, 95% of the items in the Room, were all of his IKEA pieces from his former apartment. A Bar Cabinet, Rug, Floor Lamp and Bar Stools couldn’t make a Room look that horrible and if anything, it helped enhance it! Below are all the items that he had purchased and returned, claiming to be “awful & hideous”.
He never looked at a Sofa or purchased a Sofa from us, so, the mention to how we present our upholstery items, is simply incorrect.
This was the first time in 12 years that we had a Client demand to return pretty much everything that he had purchased. We agreed to a partial refund and an in-house credit to use to reselect other items that perhaps would suit his Girlfriends taste better. He was 100% satisfied with this arrangement and signed off on an agreement. We sent out a refund check and he claimed, 6 months later, that he didn’t receive it? So, we sent out another check and 5 months later, he claimed that he didn’t receive that one either. Very strange... It was beginning to look a lot like a game and very interesting that he waits several months to notify us that either one of these checks were never received! He was sending abusive and threatening emails, degrading a female and her staff for for being “incompetent and stupid” or that someone in the firm was stealing funds, at his expense! He was relentless with his harassing emails, demanding that we should “Venmo” the refund (from a personal checking account) or apply the credit to one of his Credit Cards, when the original purchase was made by a personal check and not by a Credit Card. Anyone knows that you can not apply a credit to a credit card if the initial transaction was not processed that way! This is where he started to attack the female gender, because a “man would have the brains to do it differently”.
As a Business, we do have policies and even though we went above and beyond to try and satisfy this Client, nothing was going to make him happy. He said that he would post negative reviews if we didn’t accommodate his request on how he wanted us take care of his refund, disregarding the fact that we have a protocol to how we handle the process.
We appreciate our Client’s and enjoy designing wonderful things for them, which is expressed by the nice reviews that we have received throughout the years, however, in a rare instance, a rotten apple comes along and this one was pretty rotten!

My apologies ... I have no recollection to who you are by your screen name and being that your project date is from January 2016, 16 months later? If we had discussed bringing accessories (at the delivery & set up) based on a budget that you had provided, we most definitely would of had them with us. This is something that we always discuss with our clients and it is a commitment, prior to delivery. We are always on site for our deliveries, setting up furniture and placing everything in their pre arranged places. We spend 2 -3 hours on site, depending on the size of our deliveries.
