OUR TEAM: -MINDY HOPPE- Mindy is the Principal Designer and Owner of Design Theory 19. With a degree in Interior Architecture, Mindy is able to comprehend the construction of spaces as well as having the ability to offer solutions for better flow and aesthetics throughout one’s home. Also creating concepts for work environments which involves processes for employee retainment, branding, universal design or biophilic design. OUR STORY: Since its founding in 2007, Design Theory 19, formerly known as Inner Piece Interiors, evolved from a retail design store in downtown Wausau, Wisconsin to a multidisciplinary interior design firm engaging in a variety of Residential, Commercial, Senior Living, Dental, Healthcare and Hospitality projects. The principle behind Design Theory focuses on the fundamentals of architecture and interior design. With over a decade of experience in small to large-scale projects, DT19 crafts unique spaces focusing on how clients see and perceive visual information. Separates ideas and style, taste and trend from universal principles of aesthetics that are common to every person. 19 represents 2019, the year Hoppe purchased the design firm, but more importantly, it represents the 1900's. The history of interior design was curated in the 1900s and Interior Design was born.

Design Theory 19 is an excellent, professional, and knowledgeable interior design group. They are very familiar with the Wausau community resources and beyond in order to serve their clients best. They also ask questions and listen carefully to their prospective customers and strive to match customer needs, style preferences, quality expectations, and price points. Our main interior project this past Fall was purchasing custom Hunter Douglas blinds throughout our newly built home, and we are completely satisfied with the outcome. We're not done yet... our next project will be obtaining custom carpets that enhance our interior design style, with the consultation of Design Theory 19. We highly recommend Design Theory 19.

Design Theory 19 really listened to what we wanted in the project outcome. Mindy was so creative in how she updated our space but still incorporated what we wanted to keep from the old design. She really took the time to listen to what we wanted and gently guided us to what could be. We just wish we would have done the remodel sooner.

I would highly recommend the team at Design Theory 19!! Early in the remodel process, I was debating on whether to sell or stay after the project was complete. My home was pretty big for just me as my two boys were getting older and moving out to school and careers. After Mindy and her team placed their finishing touches on my home, there was no doubt I was going to stay. I love my home again!! Just in time as COVID struck our world and limited most of my time to working from my home. Their ideas and vision for my home would have never been anything I could have constructed on my own. Before the renovation, my home was very dark and not very inviting. Now, I actually receive compliments about my home!! I find myself entertaining much more and now my personality and interests show throughout the home. I have no plans on moving; not even a thought. For future home projects, I will not even interview another firm. The team at Design Theory 19 is who I will always use.

I cannot say enough about Inner Piece Interiors! From day one which was a thinking phase and having no idea how to start and being a weekend they responded. I am not a person who likes this kind of project but they were wonderful! They helped me with patterns choices and designs Her questions and visuals and patience and I stress patience gave me what I had wanted The gentleman that did the installation was very professional and informative also

I recently updated my kitchen and a large area of flooring. I was looking for someone who could arrange all of the subcontractors as well as providing design services. Inner Piece Interiors coordinated everything, kept the project moving along, and helped me design a beautiful, updated kitchen and floor.

Inner Piece designed and managed the remodeling of two bathrooms in our home. The project was a major remodel and upgrade taking everything down to studs and starting over. IP handled and coordinated everything including building materials selections and coordinating subcontractors. We were kept informed of the progress. The team they put together for the project were excellent. I would highly recommend them.

We used Inner Piece on a living room project 4 years ago and were very pleased so we used them just now on remodeling our masterbath/shower and closets. The designers are very talented and came up with several options. Once we decided on an option they then worked with us on selecting colors, tile for the shower and floors, cabinets and fixtures. The best part of the project is that Inner Piece provided total project management. They selected the carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tile installers, drywallers, painters and shower door installers. All workers took pride in their work, resulting in overall excellent quality. We would highly recommend Inner Piece for any size projects.

Our experience working with Mindy and her staff has been nothing short of exceptional! They are prompt, professional, very creative and respectfully mindful of our budget. They do a thorough job presenting options across all price points, and offer recommendations and opinions without pressure. They make on-site visits and are very flexible with scheduling and meeting times. They have relationships with a diverse network of vendors, and prefer to use local businesses which we appreciate. They also offer 3-D renderings, which is often difficult to find with an interior design firm. This is a great service as it allowed us to easily see how different options such as window styles, door features, exterior materials and color palettes would look for our new construction and remodeled areas. Mindy and her staff are extremely personable, courteous and very prompt in answering questions and providing project updates. Highly recommend!

We just completed a whole home remodel, with the main focus on updating the kitchen, dining room and guest bath. We were referred to Mindy Hoppe at Inner Piece Interiors by our contractor. Mindy was able to capture our vision after our first visit with her. She worked within the budget we gave her and always stayed within the estimates she provided. Our experience with Inner Piece was great. They were able to easily understand our wants/needs and transform them into the final product. They were wonderful at evaluating our current space to see if what we wanted could even happen. After, they prepared a comprehensive outline of services and pricing. Part of going with Inner Piece was to not have to find subcontractors who we could trust to perform the work, and Inner Piece was able to do that with no problem. Choosing products was seamless and many times were brought to us to make decisions versus shopping around. They also completed the services in the agreed upon timeframe which is important for any family. Lastly, Inner Piece and subcontractors provided the professionalism and courtesy you would expect when completing any large scale home renovation. We will be contacting them with any future home renovation projects.
