MOOD BOARDS - Are you stuck for what you need, how to find it and where to put it, and how to make it all work together beautifully and within budget. Cocobird design offers easy ideas and layout, colour schemes and sourcing for your home. Summer mood boards available with a one week turnaround from cocobirddesign at a discounted rate, ending 16th July. I specialise in LAYOUTS - how your space can work - 3D drawings and sketches COLOUR SCHEMES - from what colours put on your walls to how you layer the colours in your home and environment with textiles/furnishings SOURCING - particularly skilled at sourcing all the elements you need to fit the look and needs of your home, and within your budget. Over the past seven years I have worked in London and Berlin, on everything from redesigning smart town houses from scratch, planning full apartment renovations, and sourcing the furniture, wallpapers and colours schemes for entire homes, to also redesigning tiny bathroom spaces or practical children's bedrooms. No job is too big or small. As as mother of three I know how times change, and the needs of a home rapidly need to adapt and how increasingly important family life becomes, and now more than ever. I often get requests from young families needing solutions that allow life to be stylish and fun as well as practical. I also work with people who have a vision and a dream but need help reigning it in, refining their colour schemes or sourcing the perfect furniture, art and wallpaper or fabric to make that vision work. I am here to help you solve your problems through storytelling and to work out how to make your life more functional and beautiful. Lucy helped me re-design two of the key rooms of my apartment and transformed the feeling at home from a functional place to live to a true home that feels cozy, well designed and authentic to my personality. I had not done renovation projects before and so a lot was new for me, Lucy helped me to identify my style and sourced relevant items that then matched the style. Very happy about how everything turned out!

Lucy was a joy to work with and helped us create a vision for our space that originally had very little to work with! We had regular meetings and helped to create mood boards and storyboards as well as a dolls house walk-through to help work out where furniture would best fit. Found it particularly helpful to think of where lighting would best work, how to divide up rooms and to think of the colour scheme for each room that would complement each other and flow. Thank you Lucy for all of your hard work!

Was a pleasure having Lucy round our house for a consultation. Very early on it was evident she knew what she was talking about and has a lot of experience. We wanted to change the layout of our recently extended open plan living space and create some separate zones in the area. Lucy suggested a lot of really cool ideas for us to work with in terms of layout, types of furniture/accessories, paint colours, shelving etc. She was very passionate about what she was talking about and it was really easy to bounce ideas off her which we really enjoyed. After the chat she sent over a number of really useful links to the things we discussed that might work for us and we’re in the process of getting the room adjusted bit by bit. An overall great experience and would definitely reach out to Lucy in the future should we need anymore assistance for other home improvements.

Loved my mood boards and design plan. Lucy has a very good eye and will help you turn the ideas in your head into a reality. We were able to stay inside the budget I requested and still manage to find all of the things on my wish list. She even suggested things I hadn’t even thought of but I am so glad she did, they will make excellent statements in my renovated flat. Even after she had finished her work for me she followed up with me extensively to be sure I was happy with the boards and the direction the design was going. She also sent me links of furniture and extra ideas for the future - it was really refreshing. I feel confident if I have any issues or questions in the future she will be there to advise (super important to me)!

Lucy was absolutely fantastic to work with. We wanted to do do interiors for our entire house. She allotted complete attention to one room at a time. Whenever we were not on the same page with an idea she proactively gave more options. She was always open to more suggestions and was patient with any changes we made. The best part was she analysed what we liked and helped us understand the style of house we like and then visualised that with us. We were very happy with her service and glad to have her as our interior decorator for our first home in London.

I hired Lucy last year to take on the task of my toddler sons rather depressing room. Where do I begin? First of all Lucy’s ability to take a couple of my basic ideas and elevate them in to what was the breathtaking final result is just one of her many talents. Her love for nostalgic pieces Mixed with her modern sensibility of color and design give her a unique design approach that is all her own. I cannot recommend working with her enough. Book her if you can because she is going to be very busy!!

Lucy kam zu einer Beratung vorbei und hatte zu jedem Raum Ideen und Vorschläge. Es ist nicht leicht, wenn zwei Menschen unterschiedliche Visionen haben (mein Mann und ich) aber Lucy konnte damit sehr gut umgehen und hat uns viele Alternativen in Collagen und Beispielfotos geschickt. Ihre Vorschläge haben gleich zu Umräumaktionen geführt, die viel bewirken und zu Einkaufslisten, die nun abgearbeitet werden wollen. Lucy ist sehr engagiert und hat ein großes Wissen, dass sie bei skeptischen Nachfragen zeigt und somit ihre Vision super gut erklären kann. Man macht sich selbst ein Geschenk, wenn man Lucy engagiert. Sehr empfehlenswert.

We wanted to make a few changes in our rented apartment to make it more suitable for our family with 3 kids. Lucy came around to view it and was very attentive and responsive to what we needed. We had a great chat and she (whilst being a mother of three) totally got what I had in mind! And she even showed us a real similar project accomplished based on my wishes! She was very inspiring by sharing her ideas and vision on making our space more functional, which we then saw in the sketches she provided! Now we have a great plan and a vision of what can be done from this city flat, that we plan to bring into action. We hired Lucy to decorate and furnish our entire 200 sq meter "Altbau" apartment in just 3 months - a mammoth task and a big ask for our first dream home. Lucy was 100% committed to making our dream home come through from beginning to end; she worked tirelessly and around the clock to make sure every detail was perfect - from the big decisions (like wallpapers and paint schemes!) to the small touches, which make a home feel like a home. Along with her professional and creative eye, Lucy is very well connected and knows all of the best decor shops and vintage stores. Her ability to combine modern pieces with elegant "one of a kind" vintage items, means that your home will feel like yours at the end of the project - and not something out of catalogue. We appreciate the individuality of her design more than anything else - you can feel the love behind every piece she suggests. We will always be thankful to Lucy for encouraging us to use colour and reflect our personalities and culture in our surroundings, it has truly transformed how we feel about our space and our lives.

I was the lucky girl who’s room got a makeover. Since I am not blessed with the ability to envision a creative jet calming space into a white, bare room, it was an absolute pleasure to be able to hear Lucy’s visions and then see them come to life better than I could have ever even imagined. I never thought that more than one colour would find itself in my room (blue) but now the beautiful yellow wallpaper combined with the dark blues and the dusty pink creates a warm, welcoming room that makes it so that every time I enter all I want to do is sit down and start creating. 10/10 would do again

I spent a few happy months living at Rushmore Road, a beautiful garden flat in Hackney. The previous year I had watched Lucy transform a dated yet characterful flat in to a modern, fresh and exciting new home. Lucy's keen eye and creativity meant she was able to spot subtle yet clever changes she could make to the space. By opening up doorways in to the living room and kitchen the flat immediately felt much more spacious. I admired Lucy's knack for creating interesting details. Lucy removed part of the ceiling in the study area exposing brick work and adding height in to the eaves. Lucy's eye for colour and her elegant style can be found throughout the home. The wooden floors, fresh tones and abundance of natural daylight make the place feel warm, inviting and cosy. The flat retains many of its original features, the choices of fixtures and fittings in keeping with the period property, while the colours and tones give the space a contemporary feel. On a modest budget she cleverly transformed this flat in to a beautiful home which the whole family loved living in!

I would have never thought of blush, grey and sage in a bathroom but that's exactly what we're doing now thanks to Lucy's inspiring vision! Nor did I realise that the simple act of moving my messy bookshelf so it wasn't the first thing you see as you enter our small flat would make such a difference. Now our favourite painting hangs there and "makes" the room and we didn't even have to buy anything new! Lucy sees beauty in the everyday - she can make a special corner out of the most mundane, unused space and often relishes imperfections (worn wood floors, old tiles etc) which I love. She is such a great communicator that I was able to make many changes with her guidance over "whatsapp" (we live in different countries). I even sent her photos of tile choices which she responded to immediately. I love the fact that she looked at the artwork and even fabrics that we have and worked around them. She also looks at what's outside the windows and incorporates it into the interiors she designs. I love our home but it needed refreshing and I'm grateful that Lucy made me see it anew. She is a breath of fresh air!

Lucy hat ein wunderbares Gespür für Farben und Dekoration und schafft es, mit ihrer fröhlichen und herzlichen Art, dass man selbst Spaß am Einrichten und Ausprobieren entwickelt. To be honest, while my partner was dying to renovate, I was pretty reluctant to do any work on the flat. But Lucy was sensitive, participative, enthusiastic, hardworking and helped us create a lot of change with a small budget. Working closely with us, she helped us create a vision and bought calmness to the chaos we had before. Highly recommended.

You only have to look at the ‘before’ photos to see what an incredible job Lucy made of transforming Rushmore Road. On a limited budget, she turned it into a stylish, contemporary home, while taking care to keep the property’s inherent character and charm. Lucy decorated with a lot of flair and attention to detail - such as the exposed brickwork in the study, and the bathroom window, which was left its original shade of green. It’s touches like this that give the house a real personality, something that’s often lacking in interior-designed London homes! She also has a great eye for colour, and knows exactly when to be adventurous and when to tone it down. She's very professional and is insanely knowledgable when it comes to all things interiors. So many of our friends comment on what a nice feeling Rushmore Road has. Because that’s Lucy’s real skill - creating a lovely home.
