Cesar has a calm and thoughtful approach to his work. We favor traditional taste and he listened and adapted to our preferences accordingly. We have strong opinions and he was able to provide us with multiple options until we found the one that we wanted. His strength revolves around his listening skills regarding finishes that appealed to our taste. The project took longer than anticipated but in the end we love our home.

I highly recommend Cesar!! He worked with us from concept to full build on a new home in Sonoma Wine Country. He has been a pleasure to work with during this 12+ month journey. He was able to take our vision and exceed our expectations. He took all the heavy lifting off our plate and allowed us to have fun with ideas and wish lists. He was patient and flexible where we were uncertain or changed our mind. We are planning to work with Cesar again on another project! 100% recommendation him without any reservations.

Cesar was great to work with. He has excellent taste and carefully reviewed our city house to get a feel for our style before designing our country home. He has great ideas but also allowed for my suggestions and tweaks. Overall we are very happy with the interior of home. Highly recommend Cesar.

Cesar was a dream designer to work with on my Sonoma modern farmhouse project! He and I spoke the same language from the start. When I had an idea, he new how to execute it. When I was searching for a solution, he filled in the blank. He was able to understand my vision from a design and functionality standpoint and bring it to life. His recommendations from the big details to the finishing touches - from faucets, pulls and knobs, to hardwire fans and lighting fixtures were spot on. I am 100% happy with every single recommendation and design detail that Cesar brought to the table. I loved that he understood my vision, then pushed it to the next level. He is a true talent who is a joy to work with!

I am currently building a large custom home in Santa Rosa. The experience of determining the exterior look and feel of my home, selecting interior finishes, developing a color palette, etc. could have been overwhelming. But it was exactly the opposite. It was made so enjoyable by one person – Cesar Chavez, Lead Interior Designer, at Salt Shed Design and Build. We had numerous conversations about my home design style, then he helped me to shape and sharpen my home vision and bring it to life. He provided numerous design options and guided me through all the finishes for each room giving me, at the end, a wholly integrated plan while always keeping my budget in mind. What makes Cesar so great at what he does? He has all the key traits that are needed to be successful in his trade: knowledge of diverse design styles, great listening skills, confidence, strong program management skills and – first and foremost – a love of design and decorating. That makes me one very happy customer.

I contracted Cesar to help with my kitchen renovation. I didn’t know where to begin. I had a very dated kitchen which was original to the 70’s style home. Cesar explained the process to me from start to finish. He was able to bring my vision to life and far exceeded my expectations. We collaborated on a few ideas and he empowered me to take some minor risks in trusting his recommendations. At the end of the day, my new kitchen was something out of a magazine. It was featured in Good Day Sacramento and many have come to recognize this amazing transformation. I’ve hosted many social gatherings and shocked everyone with this new warm and inviting space. I am extremely happy with the farmhouse space that’s just perfect for my family! Thank you, Cesar, for all of your hard work! You’re the smartest investment I could have made. I couldn’t have done this without a professional such as you.

We are privileged to have had the opportunity to work with Cesar Chavez in the reconstruction of our home destroyed in the October, 2017 Tubbs fires. Cesar created a new home that is beyond our highest expectations. The design and finishes Cesar suggested have worked to create a modern yet classy style that incorporates some of our antiques and playful tastes He has an eye for what the finished product will look like and keeps his clients house in mind until it is finished. Everytime we called to ask about carpet, tile or the tub or the lights, he knew exactly what we were talking about and was ready to discuss. He was always responsive, totally listens, is always ready to incorporate our ideas and still lets you know when your idea might not work. He was always right! We certainly had not planned a building project at this point and were ready to retire in our then current home. Cesar took a disgruntled couple with a burned down house and showed us how to bring a new home to life and get us excited about it. Thank you Cesar! We loved working with you. We recommend Cesar and Cesar Chavez Design without reservation.

First of all if you know me, you know I love to decorate & entertain. After spending countless hours on pinterest & getting nowhere, I realized I needed to hire a professional. Once I hired Cesar Chavez Design a huge weight was lifted. I loved his existing work so I knew he could help me achieve the look I wanted. He quickly identified my style based on my inspiration images and came up with a design plan for my budget. It has been truly exciting to see my house transform into a beautiful home. I am amazed at the attention to detail Cesar has put into my house, every room flows together. Couldn't have done it without him. I could not recommend him more highly.
