Caroline Kopp Interior Design is a full-service interior design firm dedicated to creating beautiful interiors that are tailored to one’s lifestyle and personality. Caroline Kopp is the principal and founder of this Westport-based interior design firm. A desire to find beauty in the world has guided the designer’s life from a young age. She majored in Art History at UC Berkeley and then went on to New York to study interior design at Parsons School of Design. Later in her career Kopp continued her education with a sabbatical at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, where she studied decorative arts. This education in both art and interior design has given Kopp a sophisticated eye which she continued to refine while working for some of the most renowned firms in the country. Kopp has been in the design industry for over fifteen years and learned the trade from the best in the business, with jobs at Thomas O’Brien, Victoria Hagan and Foley & Cox, prior to starting her own company in 2012. Kopp upholds the highest standards of quality and style for custom homes and has produced spaces that have been recognized by numerous notable publications, including Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Traditional Home and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens. Kopp’s design philosophy calls for a fresh approach to each project, drawing on the best examples of classic and modern styles, mixing texture, color, and compelling silhouettes. My sister in law had worked with Caroline and so when we bought our new apartment in Tribeca I knew I wanted to hire her. Caroline collaborated with us to develop a design for our living room, dining room, and finish out our master bedroom. She helped us coordinate a budget, showed us lots of choices for all the different pieces that were needed (but not so many that i was overwhelmed), incorporated art from my family's collection, and did a final styling of everything which came out very well. What I especially loved was she understood that I didn't want too many choices quickly and started narrowing it down to my needs. She did everything from picking out our wall colors for every inch of our apt to finding the perfect table to pulling together our current and new furniture. We are happy with the results of this collaboration and love living in our new home. I'm already thinking of more projects that i would love to work with her on!

Caroline is a dynamo! I met Caroline in 2002 when she was hired to work on my team at Aero Studios. I was responsible for training her in the many intricacies of the interior design business. Caroline is smart, she was a fast learner and easy to work with. We worked closely together on many significant projects ranging from classical country estates to large modern apartments in the city. Caroline has a great sense of humor and we had a lot of fun working long days together. After many years of working there we both went on to start our own companies. Caroline is an open minded and generous person, and very down to earth in a business which tends to have some big personalities. In 2015 we reconnected to work together on a few of my projects, and she was fantastic as usual! I consider her a friend and have great respect for her as a colleague.

I hired Caroline to help me design several rooms in my house (including the master bedroom). She did such a great job and was so wonderful to work with that we ended up working together on several additional areas, with more rooms planned for the future. A few years ago we moved to the suburbs from NYC. We had a lot more living space in our new home plus the kids were getting older, so we were able to shift into furniture and design that was still focused on comfort but having more style. Also, due to my work schedule, I did not have time to focus on decorating my house (nor did I have the eye to do it myself). Throughout the entire process, Caroline was always professional, prompt, responsive and totally on top of every detail. She is extremely talented and she really takes the time to get to know my personal style as well. For example, she knew that my husband had a strong opinion on the kitchen table, she worked with him to get a better understanding of what he was looking for and then she identified a vendor who could build the table to our specifications. The total cost was not materially more than purchasing one from a store, but it is a totally unique piece that dimensionally is perfect and overall beautiful--we get tons of compliments on it and I know we will have it for decades. Caroline is also cost conscious and she expertly mixes pieces at different price points, depending on your needs. She also managed the implementation process seamlessly. I have worked with other designers in the past and Caroline is by far the best. She is accessible and patient and always ready to answer any questions and give advice. My master bedroom is so much more comfortable now, I truly sleep better! My two boys love their rooms too. It is a pleasure to be in the rooms we have designed together and I look forward to continuing to work together with Caroline.

My wife and I met Caroline when we purchased our pre-war apartment on the Upper West Side at the beginning of 2011. Initially she worked with us on a light renovation to select new paint colours for the the apartment and design new built-ins for the living room and master bedroom. She developed the furniture scheme for the living room, dining room, and entry hall. Caroline suggested that we mix in vintage pieces which made our apartment feel unique while also offering superior quality. It was fun learning about this furniture and the style became an interest of mine. She also worked with us to design a totally custom sofa which was fitted to our comfort and covered in a beautiful wool and cashmere fabric she found for us. We are very pleased with the look and feel of these spaces and have received many compliments from visitors to our apartment. Over the years since then we have worked with Caroline to do the furniture in our master bedroom and then later when we had our first daughter we collaborated on her beautiful nursery. Last summer she helped us with a full gut of our master washroom. It is so beautiful now and very reflective of our aesthetic. I am happy to spend a bit more to live in a nice environment and I enjoy having Caroline's input on these purchases. It has been very easy to find a mutual understanding of budget and quality level with Caroline. She is able to source well made custom items and beautiful fabrics which have given our home a subtly luxurious feel notwithstanding the 2 young children we now have. We have always enjoyed our meetings with Caroline and over the years have passed through many life milestones together, in the process becoming more like friends than business associates. We continue to recommend her to our friends and family, who have also enjoyed working with her.

We began working with Caroline when we purchased our home in January of 2011, and have worked on numerous projects with her in our home over the past 5 years. Initially she worked with us on our living room, dining room, entry hall, and master bedroom. She also helped us design all of our built-ins in our living room and master. Since then she has also designed our nursery, and most recently, she worked with us on the gut renovation of our master bath. We have loved all of the results, and she always kept in our budget. Most importantly, it has always been a pleasure working with Caroline. She has become more of a friend over the past 5 years, and we trust her whole heartily. We have recommended her to numerous friends and family over the past 5 years, all of whom have also had great experiences working with her as well. We hope to come up with more projects so we can continue to work with her!

Caroline was referred to me from a friend and I immediately found her easy to talk to -- she is professional and also fun and friendly. I chose the DIY consultation because we were on a budget and didn't mind doing some of the painting, etc. ourselves (but Caroline also specialized in full-service interior design). I was so impressed by Caroline's expertise and her taste is so on point (refined yet comfortable and family-friendly). I loved how generous she was in sharing information with me so that we could save money and do some of the work ourselves. Caroline is the rare designer who has the best credentials (prestigious education and resume) and is also down to earth and collaborative. I could not recommend her more highly.

Caroline is great!! I met her through a friend who had worked with her previously for decorating her apartment. Caroline was a pleasure to work with from start to finish! I decided I needed help finishing my dining room and living room after living in my house a few years and not being able to complete the rooms myself. I also wanted to completely redo my playroom as well as change rugs and make finishes to my TV room and exercise room. Caroline was amazing in helping me complete all of these projects! I gave her my thoughts for each of the projects and we discussed plans for each room and she executed perfectly. She always considered my needs -such as my need for kid friendly items that can endure wear and tear! She then laid out multiple options for me for each item ( rug, pillow, couch, table, paint colors) we purchased. She was always available and responsive to my emails and calls and welcomed my opinions and input. We worked within a budget and she always gave me lower and higher cost options and in the end we used a mix of both. She also gave good direction in where it was worth spending more money. My husband and I are thrilled with the results of all our projects and we highly recommend Caroline!

Caroline is a pleasure to work with! She was recommended by a friend who had worked with her previously and highly recommended that I call her. My husband and I were in the process of upgrading our windows and refinishing our floors and painting a number of rooms. I also wanted to redo my powder room and pull together my living room, dining room, and entry hall. Caroline and I worked together to lay out the rooms and to select tiles, bathroom components, sconces, upholstery, carpeting, furniture, and a mirror. I found it helpful to look at her drawings to consider various pieces within a larger context. Caroline provided many appealing options to consider and was also happy to work with furniture that we had. She consulted with me on questions I had in other rooms and assisted me with the various orders for things I needed. She was respectful of my budget. I enjoyed our meetings and found her to be efficient and helpful. She was receptive to my feedback and I felt at ease collaborating with her freely. My husband and I both have a strong sense of personal style but we certainly benefited from collaborating with an experienced designer to work through questions and consider all our options more thoroughly. Caroline is very easy to work with and we had such fun together over the course of my project!

I was recommended to Caroline Kopp by a well-connected friend. I felt at ease with her and hired her on the same day that we met. She is easy to get along with, has great experience, and I found her fee structure to be more friendly than other designers I had worked with in the past. We worked closely together to revive my 1929 Tudor in Westchester County. The house had not been cared for by its previous owners but I knew it had good bones. I had a clear vision of what I wanted for each room and Caroline worked diligently to assist me with anything that I needed. She created a very accurate budget and a design plan which helped me to target my spending appropriately. She was helpful in editing down choices for me to create the feeling I wanted in each room. We used a wide variety of resources for each space and although we stayed pretty well within my desired budget, many of the items in my home are custom or special order pieces. Caroline is quite practical and she gave me personalized service tailored to my needs. She was very responsive in dealing with the bumps that inevitably happen along the way. I have recommended her to other friends who have also found her delightful to work with. Caroline and I plan to work together again in the future to expand my home's footprint and install a new kitchen. Caroline welcomed my input at each step and supported me in expressing my vision for this new chapter of my life. The transformation of my home was quite dramatic and I now live in a beautiful and serene home that expresses my style and taste.

I worked with Caroline to photograph one of her projects in Irvington, NY. It was such a pleasure collaborating with Caroline and we were able to work together as a team to capture her client's home. She has an excellent eye for styling and making pieces work together and is attentive to detail which shows through in her work. Caroline is also wonderful at meeting the needs of clients and is able to adapt to their style in a manner that both pleases the client but also adds her own unique spin to the design, which I feel attributes to a truly great designer.
