Julie is an allied member of the ASID, the American Society of Interior Designers, and has been featured in multiple publications. As a company, JDG Interior Design believes in honing their craft — as designers — and collaborating with the best architects, builders, tradesmen, and suppliers who understand quality as well as communication. This allows for successful relationships all the way through, and at JDG Interior Design, we believe these philosophies make us not only better designers, but result in incredible working partnerships! Since launching her custom furniture & interior design career in 1990, Julie has accumulated extensive working knowledge from customized furniture, interior design, custom-built homes to remodels and every aspect in between. Her passion to understand the style of each client and the ability to weave in personal design-specific details to each project help create an inviting and comfortable space which, most importantly, feels like home. Julie designs homes with the customer in mind and would not design something that she wouldn’t do in her own home. Julie’s studio is gorgeous, she offers high quality custom furniture and she is wonderful to work with! She quickly assessed my style and needs and came up with wonderful ideas to obtain the look I wanted, but didn’t know how to achieve on my own. I’m very happy with the results and I’m looking forward to working with her on future projects!

Julie and her team have designed several pieces of furniture for our house. The furniture is of great quality as noted by its weight as well as the attention to detail by the Amish craftsmen. Julie has also visited our house several times and provided insightful decorating suggestions. Our continued satisfaction with the furniture they have manufactured for us keep us coming back when we are interested in updating rooms in our house.

Julie and her team are professional, warm, and inviting. They listen to what you want and work with you to create that dream. No budget is too big or too small -- they just like to design and decorate. When Julie and Norma came to my condo for the first time, we talked through what I wanted. We created a plan that included: style, decor, and budget. Julie even sketched designs for furniture she thought would look nice and be functional in each of the three rooms we were focussing on. Then Julie and Norma did something totally unexpected. Julie said, "Would you like to see what the shape of your space could look like using what you have right now?" Who wouldn't want that! So on the spot, they started moving things around: furniture, decor, pictures, even rugs. They completely restaged three rooms in less than an hour. As a result, I could see instantly where the holes were and what part of the design plan needed to be a priority. Several months later, when the new furniture and decor was placed in the house, I had an issue with a few floral arrangements I had ordered. They didn't look right and I was really disappointed. Norma came right over and made them perfect, no questions asked. Six months later, there are a few more things on my list to complete but I know all I have to do is call Julie or Norma and we can easily pick up right where we left off. No pressure. I would have no hesitation recommending this company to make my home or office beautiful!

Julie and her team were clever, efficient and prompt on everything they did for our home. We had just moved in and Julie helped with everything from furniture to rugs to lamps and accessories. She also helped with our outdoor patio and pool area and everything looks beautiful - classy but comfortable which is exactly the feel we tried to achieve. They were mindful of cost and budget issues and I highly recommend them.

Olde Mill Furniture & Design redesigned our kitchen two years ago, and supervised the entire reconstruction. Julie Davis, owner and chief designer, has a wonderful eye for using available space, and was very helpful in advising us how to achieve our requirements in a creative way. We continue to be very pleased with our new kitchen and use it a lot, as our family members all like to cook. Careful planning and scheduling kept our project on time despite some wretched weather in the DC area during our construction. Our house is a 1920s bungalow that had a tired 1990s kitchen. We moved a gas line, and had to upgrade some electrical and plumbing, and stripped the entire space to start over. Our new cabinets are custom-made, fit our space perfectly, and draw continuous compliments from visitors. Our quartz countertops and custom-built center island with leathered granite top are durable and look great. They were terrific choices. Watching family and friends tolerate kitchen and bathroom projects that drag out for months due to poor planning, lack of experience, and lousy coordination, I am especially grateful for the attention to detail and project management skills Julie and Olde Mill brought to our job. Home improvements are major investments in your property and personal satisfaction, so be sure to hire someone you can trust. and who will secure you the best quality for your money. Consider Olde Mill. We would hire them again for other home improvement projects.

We hired Julie and Olde Mill to help us redesign our kitchen and manage all facets of product selection, construction and contractors. Two years later, we could not be more happy with the results. Julie and her team bring a wealth of professional knowledge and talent to the table in terms of creative design options that met our needs and inspired our imagination about what our new kitchen could be. They listen and guide very well, and were very innovative problem solvers. Julie sweats the details. The ultimate plan was to totally gut our existing kitchen and replace it with a contemporary design that embraced the house's 1920 bungalow essence, which was achieved in spades. Julie's connections with product vendors was impressive, especially with the beautiful wood cabinets handcrafted by Amish artisans. We also decided to have Olde Mill fully manage the consturction, using a trusted general contractor they worked with (Matt). Given all the contractor horror stories that usually accompany many home renovations, we were extremely pleased with the construction experience. Matt was very responsible and good to work with. He was extremely well organized in managing the different facets of the job and handling and scheduling his subcontractors. He has an eye for detail and getting it right. He showed up on time throughout. We were prepared for things to get dragged out, but the job only ran 2 weeks over the estimate, which was understandable given the hurricaine that hit the area during our job. While this is likely to come off as a overly glowing recommendation, it in fact captured what our experience was with Julie. Home construction can be scary, overly expensive, very stressful, and disappointing. Our experience was anything but. I highly recommend them.
