At Home by Design is not a huge design house. It's a small, tailored service for people looking for interior design support and guidance, whether that's an hour or two to sense-check some ideas, or full project management. I gather inspiration and ideas from the 60+ countries I've been to - juxaposing old and new; respecting our past, while creating something new and exciting; creating harmony between form and function. For added inspiration, nature helps by effortlessly pairing the right colours and shapes. This organic approach, and the world around me, feeds my design creativity, from colour and shape to layers and texture. I'd love to hear about your design dreams, and look forward to hearing from you.

We needed help to move out of our interior design comfort zone, and Helen was exactly the person to do that. She took great care to get to know us, and understand our tastes before guiding us towards design choices that we would never have had the confidence to consider before. Helen has a great eye for colour and detail, and is able to bring together a scheme incorporating old and new. She didn't put pressure on us to renew everything, and was extremely patient, giving us the gentle direction that we needed!

Helen has transformed my previously drab looking living room space (I was becoming more attached to my home office!) and I’m so pleased with the outcome. Helen took the time to understand me and my preferences on style and colours whilst also picking up on my love of travel, as featured in the design. We are delighted with Helen’s work for us on our family home. Helen has the design skills and imagination that we lack and has guided us gently through to successful and very pleasing upgrade of our home. Helen made a lot of suggestions which challenged our expectations but never pressed us to take on change we weren’t sure of. Instead, Helen patiently worked with us to find solutions that are right for us. There are many features of the project that are totally from Helen’s inspiration. Our lounge was previously dull and austere. It is now warm and gently colourful and is our favourite room in the house. Thank you Helen!

Helen was recommended to me by a friend and she helped me redecorate 2 bedrooms in our new house. I really enjoyed working with Helen because she has a great eye for what will work but also really tries to understand what you are hoping to achieve even if you’re not fully sure yourself! I find it really hard to visualise what an end design will look like so Helen’s drawings of the finished room really helped me get to a place where I could be happy to go ahead with the colours we had chosen.

Helen redesigned my bedroom and my home office and made both look amazing! Every video call I now have at home, people ask me if my background is real or a Zoom background! I always get the best compliments about the beautifully hand painted wall. She a wonderful person to work with, takes the time to get to know you and understand your preferences and delivers designs you’d never think of yourself! Thanks for everything Helen

Helen listed to our brief for a redesign of our cloakroom, a bathroom and a bedroom and she did a great job. We learned that interior design is not just about choosing wallpaper but takes into account plumbing, electrical and other complications too. She guided us through these issues valiantly so....well done and thank you! Happy with the final result!

I was Commissioned by Helen to make two Console Tables for one of her Clients. It was a very challenging job for me as I Furniture Maker. Helens eye for design and elegance are fantastic, she designed the Tables and all the sizes and preportions perfectly. I would highly recommend Helen for any Interior Designs for your Home. I hope to work with Helen again in the near Future. She is a Top Designer and very professional in her Business.

Having Helen’s input into the design of a challenging and tricky space was beyond valuable and she totally understood what I was looking to achieve even though I wasn’t sure myself. I was afraid of making the wrong decision and so having a different perspective on the space was extremely reassuring. All the design options that Helen presented were stunning and after careful consideration I am beyond happy with the creative that we settled on. The colours are bold and the design is quirky which suits the style of our old house perfectly. Helen was the perfect combination of professional, warm, creative and patient. She also went above and beyond with her beautiful sketches of the space to allow us to visualise what it would look like. If you’re stuck in a colour rut or are finding it difficult to make a colour decision, I would definitely recommend having a chat. I never thought I would be able to afford the services of an experienced interior designer but Helen’s design package offered exactly what I was after at a very affordable price.

Helen is very approachable and she really helped me to stick to my original vision for the bathroom. She gave me the guidance I needed when choosing tiles, it can be overwhelming when making decisions about such permanent features in a room and Helen gave me the confidence I needed to make the right decisions. The room is shaping up just how I had hoped.
