1st Design, Inc. is an interior design company servicing residential families and homeowners. Owner and Interior Designer, Julie Constantine, brings over 12 years of design experience and growth in a constantly evolving industry. Starting her own business in 2014, Julie realized similarities amongst design firms that limited the quality of the client's experience and spread budgets thin. Backed by the knowledge and know-how from years in the industry, this was the inspiration to launch 1st Design, Inc and create a business of offering multiple design services and products. Our experience with Julie was amazing!!! We just bought a house that was built in 1980, and hadn’t been decorated since! We gave her an idea of what style we like. Neither my husband nor I have any decorating sense, so she had her work cut out for her! She picked the perfect colors for us!! We couldn’t be happier! I've known Julie as my colour consultant since I was referred to her by a residential contractor years ago, when I was enduring a total tear out and transformation of my residence. Since then, I've been fortunate to have had her partner with me in my other commercial projects. Julie listens. Her colour strategy is only firmed up once she absorbs how I define my needs for each structure. The end result? Always a maximisation of rental value through her transformative values. Considering every detail of every room, and always current on trends, design theories and colour psychology, she dedicates as much time and energy as needed to create an offering of colour solutions. Julie was everything I could have hoped for on this kitchen remodel! She is timely, accurate, and inspiring. I gave her a rough idea and she designed multiple plans. Hired Julie to get some design help installing a wall of IKEA cabinets to coordinate with our space. She made things easy and seamless and helped me better conceptualize what worked best for the space. Would recommend her services in a heartbeat. I’m including a photo- we are still waiting for our hardware to be delivered (nothing to do with Julie but it was back ordered). Please excuse the small blue tabs of tape.

Julie was great to work with in designing our Ikea kitchen. Her deep understanding of Ikea's product line helped us figure out the best configuration for our particular space, and it was well worth the small extra expense to have a professional guiding the process. It saved me many, many hours that I would have spent online and in the store, probably with a less-ideal result. She was very helpful in problem-solving and suggesting creative ways to address our needs, and her renderings helped us visualize how our kitchen would look.

She creates a beautiful paint palette that flows throughout your home. While choosing window blinds, she really listened to my needs and recommend the best product for us. Julie is amazing! She was very efficient with our kitchen design, designed a great kitchen right from the start. Then, as I am an indecisive person and have never redone a kitchen before, I wanted a variety of things changed, which she gladly did. Then after all that I went mostly back to her original design. She happily helped me redesign and then redesign the kitchen again. She was very helpful with all questions along the way too. Helped us decide which sink and appliances to go with. We probably asked more of her that we should have, but she was so helpful along the way. We did an ikea kitchen with semihandmade fronts. She designed the entire ikea order and coordinated with semihandmade to make sure that she the order with them was correct as well. She also coordinated with our kitchen construction team. I cannot recommend her enough. Very reasonably priced. She is the best!

Julie worked with me on a townhouse remodel. We talked about my style and she created a plan to incorporate the open floor concept which included a complete kitchen demo, wall removal, floor tile removal, updating electrical, plumbing, etc. Her design plan was very current and the updates included paint color consult, window treatments, hardwood flooring, lighting and a gorgeous new kitchen - Ikea cabinets, GE appliances, full wall backsplash and a 9' custom island with quarts countertops! Julie's industry contacts provided excellent product choices and were very helpful in staying within my budget. She was very generous with her time, knowledge, and her willingness to meet with the different trades was invaluable. Julie's attention to detail and final finishes makes my home a show piece and the compliments keep coming!
