Weather Queen® Shades are screen porch shades that allow homeowners to close up their screen porch, protecting it from weather and dirt. They operate from inside the screen porch but are installed on the exterior to provide maximum protection of the screens and porch furnishings. They are custom made roman shades designed for protection, simple operation and beauty. Weather Queen® Exterior Screen Porch Shades are only for screen porches. They have been protecting screen porches for over 20 years. As a small retail custom drapery workshop owner of 40 years it has been my privilege to create beautiful window treatments for a variety of homeowners. Window treatments have four requirements: to function well, provide privacy, climate control and durable beauty that reflect the tastes and lifestyles of our homeowners. Over the years we have always stood behind our system completely. We learned from each problem. We knew that good measurements and quality installation are critical to give long lasting results. Careful fabrication is needed to meet the precision requirements of the Weather Queen® Exterior Shade System. We learned the limitations of our shade system and do not put our shades on any screen porch that is not a good fit for the shades. Weather Queen® Screen Porch Shades are fabricated in our workshop in northwestern Wisconsin. ● Track systems are extruded by Crystal Finishing of Schofield, Wisconsin. Hardware is powder coated at Henry’s of Rice Lake, WI ● We only use Sunbrella® Awning and Marine Fabrics. With over 125 solids, textures and stripes Weather Queen® Exterior Screen Porch Shades complement any home. ● Weather Queen® Exterior Screen Porch Shades are only sold and installed by trained and certified Weather Queen® Sales Representatives. They handle each job from initial sale with the homeowner through complete installation. 100% our installations are still adding comfort and beauty to all of our homeowners screen porches. We love our Weather Queen Shades! We installed them at our cabin in our three season porch. They look great and essentially disappear when up. The tracking system prevents most of the rain, dust, pollen and snow from getting inside. If the wind is blowing, they stay tight in their tracks. I searched and found no other product that offered what Weather Queen did. Ours have been installed for over 10 years and still look like new. Carla and her team are exceptionally customer focused and are a delight to work with. I highly recommend them. Eric Rottier

Eric, Thank you for the kind words. Your shades where installed in 2012, with our second generation track system. Our third generation track system in 2013 was heavier duty. In 2015 we offered a 4th generation alternative track system with a longer side flange for high wind areas or homes that the wind somehow got behind the track flange. We will be replacing your tracks this spring as our whole purpose is to keep our homeowners screen porch clean and dry .Even though the system has been mostly trouble free, each problem has led to improvements. Since 1998 through today it has been by meeting problems that our system was improved.

We can’t rave enough about our Weather Queen Shades!!! From the first inquiry phone call, all the way to the installation and follow-up, every point of contact has been incredibly professional, pleasant, and with a meticulous attention to detail. Their team was very patient with all of our questions and they were delightful to work with. And the product----well, we just couldn’t be any more impressed! They are beautifully made, and STURDY. We are on a lake in northern Minnesota, and when our shades are down, all the seasonal weather (including pollen and dust!) stays out of our screen porch. When the shades are pulled up, they are barely noticeable---they blend inperfectly. Because of our Weather Queen Shades, our porch feels like an extension of the interior of our home!

"WORTH THE EXPENSE!" These shades are like nothing else I have found on the market. They provide excellent protection from the elements of wind, snow rain and dust. Because of the protection they provide, we have furnished our screen porch as if it were an indoor room. The shades are super easy to use...we simply pull them up when using our porch and drop at night just incase the weather tuns bad. An added benefit is less cleaning after the winter and pollen seasons. Not only are screens top quality, the company is wonderful to work with...very responsive and attentive.

Since our home in Stone Harbor, NJ fronts a sand dune leading to the Atlantic Ocean, we needed something to protect our screened-in porch from wind, salt and water. After exploring many alternatives, we settled on Weather Queen shades. They are so durable and yet attractive for our beach house. These shades are amazing! We had them installed on a screen porch addition for our lake cabin several years ago. We had looked at other shade companies, but only Weather Queen Shades offered everything we were looking for. They are made of very high quality material, they are very attractive, so easy to use, and the customer service is second to none. We are starting another project now on a different home and we will be using Weather Queen Shades again. We could not be happier with this product.

Weather Queen Shades did a beautiful job on our lake Home Screen porch. Every detail was covered, the installation was on time, and the shades have held up extremely well over the years. Adding these shades extended our living space as we can now use the screen porch even in inclement weather. We use them in the summer and the deep of winter in Wisconsin. We highly recommend this company!

Weather Queen Shades more than live up to their motto, "Making screen porches the outdoor living room they were meant to be." The shades do not disturb my beautiful lake view and I never have to move anything inside, my porch is set up year round with the shades offering complete protection. As a special bonus Weather Queen Shades has the most competent staff of any firm that I have ever worked with. They definitely listen to the customer and offer nothing but excellent suggestions to fulfill the desires of the customer. From selecting the fabric to final installation--the wish of the customer is always priority one. This is a great company and a great product! The team worked with me on design and fabric selection, the installation was seamless and the shades are beautiful and functional. I live in an area of extreme weather with a lot of wind and snow. The shades have enhanced and extended the use of my screen porch and truly add to the beauty of my home. After 2 1/2 years, the shades are like new.

We could not be more pleased with our custom Weather Queen Shades. A little background first. Just over a year ago we completed a house renovation project, which included a screened porch. The porch turned out great but for the past year we have not used it much, mainly because of the direct late afternoon/evening sun. Our other concern was protecting our furniture and other items from the sun, driving wind/rain storms, and heavy springtime pollen. We had considered several options (wood shutters, interior blinds, removable glass or plexiglass inserts, etc.) but all had related downsides. I knew there had to be a good solution but had no idea what that might be. Fortunately, I found the Weather Queen Shades website when searching the Internet. As I read the information and watched the video it started to sink in that this might be it, but the only dealers for the product were based in Wisconsin and Minnesota – and we’re in Virginia. As is turned out, that was not an issue. Carla had a Virginia dealer lined up and ready to go, and the process could not have gone smoother. Both Carla and Christine Shepard (dealer) were great to work with and four or five weeks later the shades were installed. In short, we love them. Both the quality and functionality are outstanding. It turns out it was not a good solution, but a great one. We’re now using the porch all the time. As far as the elements … bring it on. It’s so easy and convenient to lower the shades from inside the porch and then simply not worry about it.

I love our Weather Queen Shades! Ever since the day they were installed in early June we haven't missed a night sleeping in our porch (and it's now October in Minnesota!). My favorite nights are the rainy ones when the shades are down. Those nights it feels like we are miles away from home sleeping in a tent, a yurt, or a Japanese tea house. It's cozy, private, dry and beautiful in there. Buying Weather Queen Shades is the best thing we've ever done for our house, second only to building the screen porch. The shades are of the highest quality. You can tell they were designed with not only functionality in mind, but also beauty and quality. Working with Carla and her team was just great. They are honest, hard working, ethical people who really know what they are doing. I recommend these shades to anyone who has a screen porch. It will change the way you live in your porch.
