She guided and educated me along the process in selecting the right shades, color, and material. She takes accountability of her work and follows up with customers post installation. My wife and I live above Jasper, Georgia and, while it is a beautiful place, we are a "destination" and not a place you go to on a whim. When we found ourselves in need of an interior decorator, we were very disappointed to learn our previous decorator had retired; however she gave Ms Connie Valente glowing reviews. Before contacting Connie initially, we did both a google search as well as reading the many reviews of her work on Houz. Looking at the projects she completed and the properties she was involved with was humbling---so much so I told my wife Georgia I would be surprised if Connie would even consider our project because it was relatively small and our location in North Georgia. I was pleasantly surprised when Connie made an appointment with us and treated us as though we were the most important customer she had. She showed up on time with a great smile and a car load of swatches for us to examine. Although Georgia and I have our talents, seeing and understanding how to bring colors, fabrics and designs all together definitely are not in our "wheel house". This certainly was not a problem for Connie. She spent a lot of time understanding things WE liked and found a way to combine those affinities in a way that worked visually and emotionally. Because of our location in the forest with a Koi pond, noisy creek, and expansive wooded views, allowing the outdoors to be a part of our home was very important to us without feeling too country. Our project was to design and install: custom window shades over a large area; window treatments; and pillows to make the final touches to our home. We are so pleased with the beautiful window treatments and pillows Connie made and installed. She took such care to match the patterns in the window treatments and proposed a battery operated system to raise and lower the five blinds in our dining area.
