We hired Bob initially in 2013 to create a finished basement for us. We were so thrilled with the quality of the work and the living space that we hired him again in 2015 to convert extra storage areas to a full bathroom and gym, as well as to add a bar. He listened to our thoughts on the layout, and added his own design expertise to craft a truly amazing space. Bob even included additional items at his expense to give the finished product some additional flare, demonstrating the pride he takes in his work. We couldn't be happier with the space; it far exceeded our expectations. Our kids have an open area to play, and it's great for entertaining. We constantly receive compliments from friends and family on the basement. The only reason I subtracted one star from the review is that the work extended for a significantly longer period of time than anticipated, some of which was out of Bob's control, but nonetheless we are quite pleased with the outcome.

Livin' A Dream Renovations completed a basement remodel for us the past November. The work included a large entertaining area, full bathroom and storage. Everything came out great. Bob and his crew were very professional, easy to work with, and completed the project on time. I would recommend them if you are looking for a contractor to finish your basement.

Livin a Dream finished our basement. They constructed a large playroom, a closet, half bath, and a beautiful built-in shelving/cabinet unit. The quality of the work is excellent, and it was finished on budget. The crew were gentlemen. No mess in the house. Bob went out of his way to make sure all the fixtures and installations were to our satisfaction. Strongly recommend this firm.

I got my basement finished by Livin A Dream last year and could not be more satisfied. Bob and his crew were professional, highly skilled, and got the project done on time and within budget. I would definitely recommend Livin A Dream to anyone looking for a GC.

We hired Bob to finish our basement and our son's playroom. Bob's team was always professional and demonstrated great craftsmanship. The end result looks almost exactly like what we envisioned for the space. If there was an issue -- any job of this complexity does -- Bob made sure his guys fixed it. Bob and his team even worked to resolve issues I was having with a secondary HVAC contractor to make sure our basement ceiling remained high and perfect. The project took significantly longer than expected, but the end result was definitely worth the wait. The basement is now one of our favorite areas in the entire house!

I recommend Bob and son Bobby from Livin' A Dream Renovations. They turned my unfinished basement into a wonderful living area. They showed on time and got the job done. They were a little more expensive than other quotes we received, but you get what you pay for. Bob listened to what my wife and I was saying during the interview process and what our vision was. He gave us solid recommendations, then made it happen. I have a couple other projects and will not hesitate to give the job to Bob. His subcontractors were also top notch! If you want the job done right versus a less expensive person who you will have to hire someone to correct their mistakes, call Bob.

We hired Bob and his crew to redo our basement. I notice how Bob was very detail oriented. He made suggestions and renovations that were above par. Our basement is a beautiful space that my family can enjoy. I was very happy with the craftsmanship and work they did in my basement.

We hired Livin' A Dream to remodel our basement and convert part of our storage space into an excercise room. Bob took the time to understand what we were looking for and to make sure we were comfortable with the plans before starting. He also made suggestions and provided advice based on his experience. We found everyone to be friendly and professional. It did take a little bit longer to complete than originally quoted but, to be fair, we did make some changes to the original scope of work. We couldn't be happier with the finished product and would hire Livin'A Dream for future projects.

I have previously reviewed this company positively. Since the time I posted it, however, I have repeatedly requested that he return to fix some things that were done incorrectly from the outset. When he was last at my house, and I reminded him, he acknowledged that there was some flawed workmanship (e.g. a 1.5 inch lip of hardwood flooring between the dining room and kitchen that anyone who visits my home trips on. We don't trip on it because we know it's there, but it's dangerous.), and he assured me that he would return to fix the issues. There are a few problems in my family room and laundry room he built and that he acknowledged involve shorts in the wiring, flaws in a $20K plus project that make the design useless. Again, he said he would fix this, but has not returned. I have not heard from him since. I realize that it will take an unpaid day out of his current, usually overbooked schedule, but he has been paid for this work that is unacceptable and refuses to repair it. He is a talented and skilled craftsman, but he has major scheduling issues; for me and getting him to return, present a huge problem.
In spite of all of the above, last summer I hired Livin' A Dream to install all new doors in my upstairs, with the hopes that this new contract would be an incentive for Bob, the owner, to return and fix the other problems. After doing only the first day of the job himself, he sent his young son to do the rest of the project, and this brought new problems. Because he didn't listen to either his father or me, he had to install the closet door in my office three times before it was finally finally fixed. I still have one of the new doors, the one on my attic, with hardware that does not click in so that the door closes properly.
It has now been just over a year since the last project, summer 2013 doors, and I have not heard from him since. I guess I just have to give up that he will never return to fix the things he said were minor and promised to fix. They would be minor for him because he knows the wiring and the project. They are not minor for a new person. I'm quite disappointed and have come to live with the unmatched hardwood lip people trip on, a light that will not go on in the alcove he built in the family room, an attic door whose doorknob will not click closed, and a light over the sump pump that has never worked no matter how many times I've replaced the bulb. It's a shame, but for all of his talent, I simply cannot recommend Bob Putney's Livin' a Dream company.

We interviewed five different contractors for a basement renovation project. From the first moment we met Bob from Livin A Dream, we knew we were going to chose him for the job. He was prompt and professional and...he took his shoes off when he came in the house. I know it sounds like a minor thing, but it was a big deal for us and we took it as a sign of respect.
Bob was always easy to reach and he explained every step of the process in detail. In the middle of the project we made some minor design changes and Bob was easily able to incorporate them without any delays in the final completion date. Each time Bob brought a new member of his team to the house, he was sure to introduce them to us and explain what they were doing. We appreciated not having a stranger randomly showing up at the door.
The quality of their work was awesome. The job was completed in May 2012...it's been 9 months now and we are so happy with our new basement space. I have absolutely no complaints.
I've got some other projects in mind in the future and I know I'll be calling on Bob and his crew again.

We contracted with Livin' A Dream to add a bathroom in our basement and to remodel the ceiling, light fixtures, and walls. Bob and his crew did a fantastic and very thorough job at a very reasonable price. They were courteous and professional at all times; I never heard any of them use profanity, and they were careful to keep their work area clean and to protect our belongings. Bob also did a great job of keeping in touch through e-mail. Due to some circumstances beyond their control, the job took a few days longer than the original estimate. This caused us some minor inconvenience, but Bob offered us a discount to make up for it, which we really appreciated. The work they did was excellent and made our basement much more comfortable. A few months after the job was completed, a door they had installed broke. I contacted Bob, and he came very quickly and fixed it up for us. We have recommended Livin' A Dream to others and will certainly consult them again for other remodeling we plan to do in the coming years.

Livin' A Dream Renovations provided excellent service and development of our new basement, as well as going above the call for quality in its finished job. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants an excellent job done on their new basement and for a very reasonable price!

May I remind you the "flawed workmanship" you refer to, was due to a previous contractor installing your kitchen hardwood over top of the existing hardwoo
d throughout your home. That's what is "flawed" Certainly not our craftsmanship. We stand behind everything we do. The "shorts" you mention, do not exist. The inlay light in family room, and closet light in the laundry room have blown bulbs. Although, I have come over after 10 pm to unclog toilets, walk your dog while you're were on vacation, gave free bedroom closet doors, and countless other things, I typically don't offer handyman/maintenance services four years after a project is finished. However, I will send one of my guys over to change your light bulbs, asap, at no charge, because you're such a valued customer. I agree however I am guilty of being in high demand, with a very busy schedule, with basement renovations booked 4 months in advance, because we DO excellent work. How quickly some forget. Have a great day! Best wishes to you & Alex!
