America Building and Construction, Inc. began as a small family-owned business in 2008, started by Earl and Rhonda Griffin, and their son Eric Baker. Earl began in the construction industry in 1982 as a carpenter where his passion for construction grew and eventually extended to his son, Eric. Homeowners that have received services from American Building and Construction, Inc. have experienced professionalism, quality services, and transparency with job costs. Unlike other companies in the industry, our attention to detail and customer service is unsurpassed. It is true to say that the way Earl, Rhonda, and Eric relate as a family with care, attention, and transparency spills over to how they connect with each individual client and project. Do not hire. We hired Eric Baker to start work on an addition project. He seemed like an honest person who felt capable of taking on the project and we were excited to work with a small family company. We signed a contract and paid him half the cost of the first phase of the project up front. Even though we were still in the permitting phase he insisted on moving forward right away but as soon as he cashed the check he didn't show up for 3 weeks. He was hard to communicate with (not answering phone calls and texts) and always had an excuse for why he didn't show up that day. When he eventually did start the work with his brother and one other person, they did poor quality work. They broke our box gutters (a $2,000 fix) AND our AC condenser unit. He left someone who had never used an excavator alone with the rented machine for an entire day, and didn't fence the area properly. He rented an excavator for 3 weeks, yet only used it for 3 days, the rest of the time it just sat on our property, and when my husband asked him to return it he lied and said it was 'pay by the hour of use'. After completing about a quarter of the project, we did not feel comfortable continuing with him working on our home. He promised to give us money back and give us all of his numbers in 2 days. A month and a half later we haven't seen a single receipt or expense report, and he continues to manipulate the situation making excuses to buy himself more time. Stay away.

American Building and Construction saved the day by reconstructing a deck to make it safe for my grandchildren and family. Mr. Earl Griffin and associates did an excellent job in accurately estimating costs, matching new and existing deck components in quality, color, and style, and completing the job ahead of the time estimated, This custom composite deck is supported by pylons sunken in a pond and extends out over the pond. As such, it required some engineering creativity which was provided with no problem by AB&C Inc. I highly recommend their services and am already contracting for additional projects at my residence and rental properties.

I had American Building and Construction tile my bathroom floor and the floors in two closets. The bathroom had a DYI installation of "engineered hardwood" shimmed with cardboard. See photo. (We didn't know what we'd find under a hump in the floor! Cue "Jaws" soundtrack.) The closets were crooked providing another challenge. Earl Griffin and Eric Baker were equal to the challenge. Besides being skilled at what they do, Earl and Eric are professional, punctual, and have a sense of humor. They were a pleasure to work with.
