Adam is my go-to contractor, he responds quickly and does quality work. He removed and replaced our deck in the fall and we hired him again in the spring to paint. Very pleased.

Do yourself a favor and call someone else. I hired Adam to do the following. Remove and replace siding, install 5 window new sashes and 4 window sills,repair some fascia board and replace some plywood ceiling. Adam gave me a quote of $21,750 I called him and told him to proceed. He then emailed me with a contract for $4500 more. I of course told him that wouldn't work thank you. A few days later he called me and dropped the price $3000 After thinking it over and getting a few more quotes I accepted the bid. "Big mistake" Adam structured the draws as follows. 1st Draw received at contract signing for material cost, fuel, & dumpster fee. $10,000 2nd Draw received after the materials on the job, demo is complete, repairs are completed, and 1/3 of the house has new siding on it. $6,500 3rd Draw received once the siding is complete before painting is started $5,000 4th Draw is received the day of completion $1,250 We paid Adam the $10,000 and the work did indeed begin. The old siding was torn off and new siding started going up. Our house had foam board behind the siding. The workers knocked holes in the foam board any didn't bother to replace any of it or offer any remedy. I was not there at the time and discovered this later. when I went into my attic. (see photos) Approx 2/3rds of the siding was up when Adam asked for the 2nd draw. None of the repairs were complete but more of the siding was done than required so I paid Adam the $6500 for the 2nd draw. At this time I noticed the holes and some very wavy spots. Adam told me that I should judge the work until it was completed. At this point none of the windows were in and no repair work was done. I insisted on getting the windows in and repair work done before the next draw. 4 of the 5 windows were installed and the repair work was done. One window which I changed to frosted for an additional $300 was not installed. Adam said he couldn't pay the painter unless he got the third draw. I paid the 3rd draw and held back $500 for the window that was not installed. At this point Adam had been paid $21,000 The painting began. The painters sprayed the siding and did the trim. The trim looked pretty good but the siding looked splotchy and uneven. The painters left without finishing or cleaning up properly. Adam said he would finish up when the last window came in. A week or so later I get a call from Adam in the afternoon on a Friday. He tells me that the window is in and he wanted to install it and finish up. I was at work and couldn't do it at that time. Then the real trouble began. Adam wanted to be paid in advance. I told him no the contract clearly says you will be paid upon completion. Adam didn't like that and began to cuss me and call me names etc. He then threatened to tear the siding off of the house. I needed the job to be finished so I told him that I could do it that next Tuesday. Adam indicated that he had "bigger fish to fry." Needless to say the job was never finished and the portion that was finished was sub standard. Do yourself a favor. Do not hire this guy.

I needed all of the siding and gutters replaced on my house. I got a competitive quote, and excellent service. The work was finished on time, with lots of attention to detail and the contractor made excellent suggestions. My house looks like new!

My review and appreciation of Adam and his company has more to do with his integrity and character. I bought a Groupon from him 2 years back, and due to circumstances that involved moving, I was not able to make use of the Groupon then. I talked to Adam about it at the time and he said that he would always honor my Groupon. Two years later, I called him (a little sheepishly!) because I had a few things that I needed done on my home before moving/selling (again!) I wish I had been able to use his services for something nice like a screened-in porch or renovation, but just a few minor things that needed to be done prior to selling. Adam drove almost 2 hours to my home to honor this old Groupon of mine and I couldn't be more appreciative. It was really of no benefit to him to honor it, so this tells me what kind of person and businessman he is. Thank you, Adam!

Exterior Painting and New Gutter System: Adam and his crew just completed painting the exterior of our home and installed a new gutter system. Our home looks beautiful. All of Adam's staff are professional, skilled and friendly. Adam's expertise and attention to detail provided us with a remarkable makeover. Our home looks like new. Under his direction, his crew painted our home's exterior, removed and painted all of our decorative wrought iron filigree and window boxes. They also painted our porch rocking chairs, deck trim and support beams. Adam then had a professional crew remove all of our old gutters. Installed a protective border beneath the roof, preventing critters from finding their way into our attic. A problem we have had in the past. They then installed color coordinated gutters and a leaf guard system. We have used Adam's company in the past and continue to be impressed with his meticulous work. "Treating the job as if it were being done on his own home." That is how Adam Dutton, owner of Affordable Home Concepts, handled our deck renovation. Our deck (48'x14') was built over 12 years ago. After careful evaluation, Adam advised us that at the time the deck was built it conformed to existing codes, but would not pass inspection today. Adam explained in detail the structural changes necessary to bring it up to code and make it safe. He and his crew were skillful and meticulous. As the work progressed, Adam reimbursed us for one of the line items that he found to be unnecessary. The new trex railing system was installed and our deck looks brand new. We couldn't be happier. Adam and his team replaced the entire roof and siding of my home, repaired windows, rebuilt the front porch and installed columns; and painted the exterior a 3-color scheme. The quality of the craftsmanship is incredible and exceeded my wildest expectations. My old, outdated eyesore of a home is now the most beautiful home on the block. I highly recommend Adam and his team of professionals. Every member of his team is professional, respectful and a highly gifted carpenter. I've hired many contractors over the years and Adam's team has given me a new respect for the construction industry.

In my experience, it is hard to find contractors in Atlanta that are afforable, and provide quality work, and stay on schedule. Adam does just that! I contacted Adam about adding a deck to the back of our one story ranch. From my initial contact with Adam he was very responsive. Right away he set up a time to meet me at the house for an estimate and let me know that he could get started on the project the following week. He helped me decide on the size and layout of our new deck and made me feel comfortable that I would get quality work. He sent me an email with the estimate and some photos of his past work that evening. My husband wanted me to get a second estimate to compare prices, so we did that and Adam's ended up being a much better price. I was also impressed with his professionalism and responsiveness so we decided to go with him for our deck project. On Thursday I told Adam that we'd like to go ahead with the project. He came by to pick up the deposit on that day, materials were delivered on Friday and work began on following Monday. The project was complete by Tuesday evening. Even with a delay on Monday morning due to rain, his crew worked until dark both days to get everything done quickly. Adam was onsite with his crew throughout the two days, giving guidance and making sure the work was done correctly. Their work was very precise and you can tell that they are skilled in carpentry. I was also blown away by how much attention to detail they paid with the deck support. It is secured to the house, posts are cemented in, and the quality of materials is very good. Our new deck feels very solid and sturdy and I know we will enjoy it for years to come. Adam and his crew were polite, cleaned up after the work and made me feel totally comfortable. They asked me along the way for clarification on several things related to the design of the deck (stair placement and rail height) to make sure I'd be happy with the final product. I really appreciated this, because I now have exactly what I wanted in the deck. I would definitely recommend talking to Adam about any remodeling projects you have in mind. His experience and expertise were very refreshing to work with and we will definitely call him again for future needs.

We needed a bathroom built in our new retail space and a friend recommended Affordable Carpentry by Design. Adam responded immediately to our call and came out to discuss the project. His estimate was lower than his competition, plus his work exceeded our expectations. Adam realized our lease payments had started and we couldn't move in until his work was completed. He and his crew worked extra hours (with not extra charge) and finished the project ahead of schedule. He followed up after completion to make sure everything was to our specifications. Adam and his crew just finished a major renovation in our 1950's ranch house. They gutted and remodeled the kitchen, living, and dining room areas. Some of what the project included: installing 2 skylights, a new window, vaulting ceilings and adding new structural beams and supports, lots of electrical work, exterior masonry work, repairing and refinishing hardwood floors, installing all cabinetry, appliances, fixtures, countertops, HVAC work, painting, trim work...and a ton more details I'm sure I'm leaving out. Adam was really great to work with. He got back to us quickly after first contact, answered our many questions, worked with us on budget, and got started on the project right away. Adam is hands on and was on site daily to oversee all the sub contractors. His crew works quickly and efficiently and were all really nice. We were living in our house during the renovation and they made is as easy as possible on us. There were a few minor hiccups along the way as we had changed a lot of details in the blueprints so were working from 2 sets of plans but everything was resolved quickly without any hassle. We are SO happy with our new kitchen and living spaces-it is a really dramatic transformation. We will definitely be contacting him again in the future when we renovate other areas.
