$35,000 MISTAKE. Bill and his wife, Adriana fooled us shamefully! We thought they were caring and kind Christian professionals. Our Main floor Reno with new added sunroom would cost more than $100,000. In August, the existing deck was demolished within a couple of days and discarded into the dumpster that took up residence in our driveway for months. Basically NOTHING ELSE WAS DONE! $35,000 paid for ~$3,500 work when we found it necessary to find another contractor that would get our project done. (and redo/repair subpar subcontractors' efforts) Bill's EGO has refused to offer any kind of refund.

My construction project was handled with the up most importance and patience for my concerns , ACE and crew were very professional and worked to get the job done . I will always refer them to family and friends. Highly recommended .

Bill and team helped create our vision into a reality by adding a stunning screened-in porch to our house. I can not speak highly enough of Ace Home Building and Construction's ability to deliver the quality we expected at a price we could afford. After meeting with numerous contractors Bill and Adriana's responsiveness and professionalism separated themselves from the others. As our first time embarking on a large remodel project and all the horror stories one hears about contractors, Bill and team have left a lasting positive experience for us. We later found out Ace Home BC is a veteran owned company and were glad to have the opportunity to support those who served for our great country!

This customer decided to hire a cheaper contractor and to avoid permitting their job as was required by the building inspector's office. Much more was involved with completing this project than this customer alleges (complete kitchen remodel including customer cabinets and counters along with re-arranging plumbing and electrical fixtures, completely opening up the first floor by removing main structural walls, etc.) After spending nearly a year, numerous estimates going back and forth with this customer, eventually signing a contract, applying for a permit, spending thousands of dollars on a structural engineer and architect, completing demolition on the project, purchasing special order materials, re-routing plumbing, and exhausting nearly 160 hours of planning, sales, and project management, while foregoing other opportunities to service other customers, this customer wanted to get a full refund on the job since they had decided to use someone else (after signing a contract with our company) to finish the job.
After applying for a permit for this project, the engineering staff within the building inspector’s office required that architectural blue prints with structural engineer certification and surveys/site plans be provided prior to commencing with construction of the sunroom. Contracting with a state licensed structural engineer and architect and allowing these two individuals time to design and complete the blue prints took two-three weeks to complete. (Everyone we contacted in the Atlanta area was extremely busy with designs for other projects. Additionally, this customer demanded that the sunroom be constructed nearly 20% larger with a different roof line than was originally contracted.) Earlier in the year we had permitted and completed two similar remodeling projects in the same county without having to hire a licensed engineer, architect, or survey.
These customers were advised in the contract (that they signed) that if external professional services were required to obtain permits, they would be required to pay for these additional services. These customers refused to do so. Much more additional work was completed on the project than described in this review by this customer. We completed as much work as we could prior to obtaining the permit so that work could continue. While we were completing other work and just before the blue prints were completed, this customer kicked us off the job. She claimed that they found a contractor they liked better who would be able to complete the project faster and more to their tastes. She claimed that their new contractor was state-licensed and had already obtained a permit to complete the work.
Just a few days after these customers kicked us off the job, their new contractor called our dumpster company to have our dumpster removed from the job. (This new contractor used the dumpster and materials we provided for the job.) Upon talking with this new contractor, he told that he had already acquired a permit to complete the project. We could not understand why permit would allow another permit to be approved while another one (ours) had already been applied for. The inspector’s office had let us know that the new contractor lied to us and that no permit had been obtained. Additionally, the building inspector went to the jobsite and shut the job down because no permit had ever been approved. On the same day that this review was posted by this customer, the building inspector’s office sent us an email to let us know that our permit application would be cancelled because the property owner desired not to proceed with it in light of hiring another contractor (nearly 3 months after kicking us off the job).
After a contract is signed (especially after the contractor has proceeded with work for nearly a month), it is too late to change your mind. You don't get to sign a contract to purchase and finance a car, drive the car around for a month, decide to get another car, and, then, be allowed to cancel your loan contract and demand a complete refund for it.
Again, our company provided vast resources to the complete this customer’s project: numerous estimates going back and forth with this customer, eventually signing a contract, applying for a permit, spending thousands of dollars on a structural engineer and architect (completed blue prints), completing demolition on the project, purchasing special order materials, re-routing plumbing, and exhausting nearly 160 hours of planning, sales, and project management, while foregoing other opportunities to service other customers. Thousands of dollars and vast amounts of time were expended on this customer’s projects to please them, not the mere $3,500 stated. These customers just wanted a cheaper job completed after already signing a contract with us and having us commit, severely, to their project instead being able to spend all this time and resources with another customer and their project. Additionally, this customer sought to complete this project, illegally, without a permit, which we could not do for fear of losing our State Builder’s License.
At all times, we abided by our contractual obligations to these customers and bent over backwards to accommodate many new requests by them. The way we were treated by these customers was very unfair. They never gave us notice prior to hiring the new contractor. We were blind-sided, and was never given any opportunity to continue with the work. When our builder showed up one day to look at work being done, he was told not to return that they had hired the new contractor. These customers explained that they had not intention of honoring the contract with us and had entered into a new contract with the new contractor. We work hard to satisfy all of our customers and have never had a customer desire to “tear up” a contract one month after us commencing with work and signing a contract with them.
