Gaylord Hardwood Flooring

We can't say enough to express how great our experience was with Gaylord. Their flooring is beautiful and their customer service is far superior to anything we'd experienced before. We were looking for livesawn white oak and stumbled on their website. We submitted a request for more information and within 10 minutes, one of the owners (Greg) called us to introduce himself and ask what we were looking for. After a brief discussion he put us in contact with Kelsey, one of the company's designers. Simply put, Kelsey was phenomenal to work with. She was so patient as we asked question after question and went back and forth over the type of wood and stain that we wanted for our new home. She sent us many different samples to us without hesitation, and always followed up to see what we thought and if there was anything else they could do. For us, this was a big purchase as the whole first floor of our new home was going to be hardwood. Because of that we were admittedly a bit high maintenance... And it never phased Kelsey. She was unbelievable throughout the entire process. After we finally made our selection, they were great as we worked out delivery. We are in the US (MD), and delivery took place during the height of covid. Because of that, their normal shipping mechanism wouldn't work. Gaylord worked with us to find a solution that met our construction timeline. The floor itself (8" livesawn white oak in Sandbanks stain) is beautiful and has already shown to be quite durable. We have a 10 month old that likes to drag and bang whatever she can find on the floor. All in all we can't say enough great things about our experience with Gaylord and we'd work with them again in a heartbeat. A big thanks to Greg, Kelsey and all those at Gaylord for helping make our new house a home.

We are so happy to have the Gaylord hardwood flooring and loving the flooring. We have three dogs and I was afraid that the dogs would scratch the flooring, but the flooring is still beautiful like new. I will get flooring from Gaylord for sure when I need to replace the hardwood flooring in my living room. :)

Purchased beautiful white oak, wide plank flooring from Gaylord for a master bedroom renovation. The materials were delivered on time, and up the stairs to the room (wow....that saved my old back). I chose to install it myself, and I would have say this easiest hardwood install I have ever done. The pieces were long, and straight, with almost perfect machining. The floor just fit perfectly together! No, pushing or prying warped boards, and almost no waste! 1/2 this floor is installed over an electrically heated low voltage system (glued and nailed), the other 1/2 more conventionally. We have been living in the renovated room for about 18 months now and the floor continues to meet our every expectation. Even our new lab puppy hasn't managed to scratch the finish. The folks at Gaylord have been extremely helpful, and have followed up several times to ensure that we are happy with the product. I have highly recommended them to many of my friends and neighbours, resulting in 4 or 5 of them also purchasing new floors from Gaylord.

I purchase the 5”wide champagne ash, in memory of the ash that had to be cut down on the front yard. The flooring was laid on an angle by the general contractor to disguise the flaws in the original wartime bungalow - not much is square! It covers the whole house, less the bathroom. I love the overall light colour and the grain. Gaylords provides excellence service (& great butter chicken pizza), quality product; I recommend their wood flooring.

Great show room. This allowed us to see numerous alternatives for our new living room floor. The Gaylord team were very helpful in assisting us to make a final choice...white oak 6" with a brown stain that matches well with furniture and decor. Our job was completed by a local installer familiar with installing wide plank flooring. This was completed in 2018 prior to actually moving into our new home. We will look to Gaylord if we want to install additional hardwood in our home.

From the spectacular showroom, to the install Gaylord’s was phenomenal. We purchased ash flooring with a “tavern matte” finish. It was installed in our kitchen, dining room, main entrance and powder room. We have received nothing but compliments. We have two dogs that damaged our existing engineered wood floors with very little effort: claw marks, drool etc. Our new floors from Gaylords have proven to be incredibly hardy! They continue to look as good as when they were installed. I wish we had come to Gaylords first and definitely highly recommend this company and their products.

Absolutely love my wood floors! Ordered 5” natural maple hardwood flooring from Gaylord to install myself. The flooring was milled and finished to perfection, making the install go very smoothly. Each box had an excellent variety of lengths, with more than enough long pieces. Louis and staff were kind and helpful throughout the project, available to answer questions by phone and responded to emails promptly. Will definitely go to Gaylord for my next flooring project.

This is my second home that I completed with Gaylord hardwood flooring . I chose the 2 1/4” hickory and just love the look of it. It is very easy to install and super easy to clean. Also the service was the best Gaylord is my first choice for flooring Thanks Jerry

Very happy with the quality of product and professionalism of the entire Gaylord team. We would definitely recommend them.

We showed up at Gaylord with a sample of laminate hardwood flooring from the Netherlands that was the colour and look we wanted. We didn’t want the flooring to be as wide and we also didn’t want it to be too narrow - in other words we wanted it just right. We also wanted 3/4” solid hardwood instead of laminate and we wanted our floor to be essentially knot free and to be a solid accent for our open concept modern looking interior with a very stripped down look and feel to it. Additionally, we were looking for a matching no more than one inch high baseboard in the same finish, colour and wood as the main hardwood floor that would be throughout our one floor home except for two bathrooms an entry area and a laundry room. This meant the floor had to work not only in the main living and dining area but also the kitchen. Gaylord staff immediately grasped what we were after and quickly resolved upon oak as the primary flooring material and next took steps to match the colour to our sample. The only thing we wished we had was a finish that was oiled like many European floors as opposed to a surfactant type but we were assured it would stand up and could be touched up as required along the way. They made the baseboard from the same material as the floor and stained and finished it so it matches identically. The results have been spectacular. We have the warmth of real wood with a wood type and colour that is a perfect accent to our modern furniture with its chrome, leather, and glass materials. Our rugs simply jump as a result of the flooring they lay on. Furthermore, we have the disappearing baseboard we were after where the baseboard simply blends into the floor and is there but not really apparent unless you look closely. It is now a few years into living with this flooring and we could not be happier with the result. It is incredibly easy to keep clean, has the durability of the oak floors of a bygone age, yet the look of a very upscale contemporary floor. So if you are looking for something special, and want superior attention to detail, and service, look no further than Gaylord. Additionally, if they are still doing it, they serve wonderful homemade pizza from their in store pizza oven while you sort out the details! We hope this helps others in their shopping for superior fine wood flooring. It is worth the drive to Gaylord!
