East Windsor Floor Covering

I recently purchased four rugs and one stair runner from East Windsor Floor Covering. The total cost was $9,083.71. The runner and 3 rugs are fine. My husband and I, plus a guest, had allergic reactions to the fourth one which is a polypropylene rug. I had hives and a rash, my husband had a rash and my guest had a migraine headache, all on the day the rug arrived and thereafter. I did not request a refund but I did request an exchange. I would give them the $9.31 square foot rug for them to sell in exchange for a cheaper rug from their in-stock inventory which costs about $4 a sq. They refused saying that the rug was a custom rug (which it is) and would be hard to sell. I said it was a large rug which could easily be cut down to fit a smaller room. They said they would try to sell it and if they could they would refund some of my money. However, if I wanted another rug, I would have to buy one and wait to see if the polypropylene rug sold. I'm very disappointed. I have purchased rugs from this store in the past and would like them to have treated a past and current customer more satisfactorily. I have four more rugs for which they have already measured but I will NOT be purchasing them from this store. They have lost a formerly loyal customer.

I've spent over $7k with this company in the last year, They have a great selection of flooring but they are very expensive. But I didn't mind as I figured with the selection of quality products i'd get a professional company who valued their customers. I WAS WRONG! I just had a flood on the new carpet. It was roughly a 6'x12' section of 1 room , after pulling back the section of carpet, thoroughly drying out the carpet and removing the wet padding myself, I called them to see about scheduling the installers to come back and install new padding and re-stretch the carpeting. This should litterally take about 30 minutes... They told me $450... I called 2 carpet installation companies and they quoted me between $100 and $200. Which I have no problem with. You would think EW Floor Covering would value a repeat customer and take care of them. I am a contractor, I understand how things work, They use sub-contractors for their installations and would simply have one swing by my simple repair late afternoon on the way back after another job. Their sub contractor might charge them a small fee..or nothing at all. Either way EW Floor covering charging me $450 is ridiculous. If this situation were reversed and this was one of my customers, I would not even charge them! I understand that they are in business to make money,,but they have no clue how to treat existing, repeat customers! They just lost another customer! SMH!

EWFC was a great help from the beginning, in letting me take out many, many swatches in order to determine which patterns I wanted for my Kitchen and Laundry room vinyl floors. They also honored the price they gave me over a year before, which was largely confirmed by word of mouth, because I don't think they made a written quote back then, but they honored the price anyway, which I greatly appreciated. The installation occurred on the scheduled date, and the work was done efficiently and neatly. There was a minor issue a few days later, in which the moulding under the dishwasher fell off, which seemed to occur because it was just a little too large, so opening the DW door loosened it. When I called them to address it, they returned shortly afterwards with new moulding, cut shorter, and promptly repaired it. Overall I'm quite pleased. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because one of the workers put a minor scratch in one of the cabinets when he installed the floor, and, the small gold nails / brads used to secure the threshold are coming out of the floor. It 's on my list to go back and see if they have longer nails that I'll replace them with. In closing, I'd hire them again and I'd recommend them too.
