In 1999 I decided to do something really different: Develop a company that would promote American manufacturers and show the public what we still have to offer. By default I do have to carry some import stuff. Wicker and teak for example, just aren't available as raw materials here, but I can still look for American OWNED manufacturers and bring to light the quality that our industry has to offer. Fire Magic has been made here since 1937; Portable Kitchen grills, since 1953; MHP since 1960, and I could go on and on. There are reasons why they are still around, like using all 1st quality materials. Most imports from China simply sell our own scrap goods back to us as shiny new goods, that's why they have 1 year warranties on finishes of patio furniture, or 1-2 years on grill parts. The truth is the best products are still made here, we just need to be able to find them.

Every step of the process with them has been outstanding, including the long-term care. I refer all my friends. We move about every 2 years and each new place comes with it's own special heating/fireplace problems. I can count on Southern Hearth to help us customize our heating needs for our large family. The really went beyond when my husband was diagnosed with a mammal meat allergy. They helped us find an outside grill that would allow us to cook foods special for him without contamination. It doesn't get better than that!!

Clay Dennis and his staff installed a Fire Magic grill at our Pergola four years ago. We love it! I can't think of anyone who knows more about grills, firepits, fireplaces, wood/gas stoves, etc. Not only does he know everything about them, but he wants everyone to have what works best for their needs. From customer services to sales to installation, his team is the best to walk you through the entire process. I wouldn't have trusted anyone else because I knew I'd be enjoying the grill area with friends and family for years to come!

Clay, Charlotte and the team have helped us numerous times over the years. From annual fireplace cleanings, a new burner for our gas lamp on our mailbox post, and now a replacement set of gas logs for and aged unit, the knowledge, wide selection of options and professionalism are all unmatched in Chattanooga. My family is very happy with Southern Hearth & Patio and will continue to be clients in the future.

Southern Hearth and Patio was able to quickly see what was not working with my existing gas log fireplace (wrong type all along), and then installed the correct, vented log system that works perfectly. Installation and service are top-notch, and products are top quality. Courteous and friendly technicians and staff are the icing on the cake. We are actually able to enjoy our fireplace now! I would highly recommend Southern Hearth and Patio.

How wonderful it is to have someone who actually KNOWS about their products and why one would fit someones needs better than another. SHP did an amazing job installing 3 fireplaces during my remodel. Clay was super patient and great answering all of my (many!) questions, and all of the installation crew members were friendly and beyond helpful. One of the fireplace installations was a bit tricky, and they took extra care and creativity to solve & resolve the issue. I am thrilled with their services!

When researching ceramic grills I went into Southern Hearth & Patio. Clay and his staff were extremely knowledgeable and willing to take the time to talk to me and explain all the ins and outs of each grill...some of which they don't sell. When I decided which was the right one they didn't try to upsell me on extra things. Now that we are moving Icannot wait to get Clay out to plan an outdoor kitchen...Clay, Charlotte and the gang are simply the best in Chattanooga. I also know that some of the guys here are very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and some are Veterans both of which I support and endorse. Thanks to Clay and Charlotte for all you do in our community. I am running low on charcoal so I will see you soon :)

Without a doubt one of the most helpful, professional and customer-oriented businesses I've ever dealt with. We purchased our first gas logs and they ensured we knew the various options and the pros and cons of those options. As a result, we got what was right for us. Throughout the process of discussing, purchasing and installation the high quality of customer service continued. They even called later to see if we had any questions and were happy with our logs. Nice people, quality product and excellent service.
