Hello, I am Rich Dubois, the owner, chief designer, and builder for DUBOIS WOOD STUDIO. I am based in Paulsboro, NJ and have been a craftsman since 2011.
I’ve been building things since I was a kid. Building furniture and other woodworking projects was something I stumbled in to. Like many other woodworkers, it started with a need. My family and I moved into a new home and we were in search of a new dining room set. The set we liked the most was out of our budget, and the dining room sets in our price range, we did not like. All of a sudden, the thought hit me that if I want to have a table I really like and not spend too much on it, I might have to build it myself. So I bought a used craft table, saw, and miter saw from eBay. I purchased pine from Home Depot and got to work in the small creepy basement we had at the time. Through plenty of trial and error, and YouTube videos, I finally made a 6-seat dining set for my family. It took months and I am certain I spent more money making the table than that dining room set we liked but I found my niche and I love every second of my craft. We don’t have that table anymore but it still serves as a reminder of how much I did not know back then, and how much I was willing to learn. From the beginning, my experiences have been awesome and they sparked the desire to keep building.
Today, I have a fully functioning woodworking studio. My love for woodworking has grown and continues to grow everyday. I love having the opportunity to build things for other people and being able to turn thoughts and ideas into reality. Hopefully, I get the chance to do that for you!
