Pat Young Ceramic Arts

Pat Young Ceramic Arts was established in 1954 by my Grandmother, Pat Young, as a simple hobby. She had been "puttering around" with some ceramic clay she acquired from a friend and the leaves in her garden when an insurance salesman dropped by the house. This salesman was so impressed with her "art work" that he took some samples to see if he could develop a market to sell them. The result was the beginning of a quickly growing business, requiring the purchase of multiple kilns and the hiring of employees. For 62 years we have always been a "home based business". Some years a single family member was the sole employee. At other times when the business expanded we employed a small group of local, artistic citizens of Inverness, Florida. At this time the 3rd generation owner and his wife are the only "employees". Over the past 62 years our ceramic studio has been located in 3 separate Florida cities. It was originally established in Inverness, Florida in 1954. It was moved to Oveido, Florida in 1989 and again to Saint Petersburg, Florida in 1996. Each move was coupled with the change in ownership from one family member to the next generational family member. We have sold our ceramic art in almost every state in the USA and a few sites in Europe. Over the decades we have had our ceramic art located in over 350 of the finest gift shops. We have also built up a wonderful group of private collectors. All of our products at Pat Young Ceramic Arts are completely hand crafted. We still use the same American mined, finest china grade clay that we used in 1954. We still purchase our ceramic glazes from the same two American glaze companies we started with decades ago. We produce a superior original designed ceramic art product in over 185 designs, sizes and colors. These include 5 completely different leaf patterns of dinner ware and serving ware. We also offer 23 various leaf designs in artistic dishes and bowls. Five varieties of life-like flower sculptures are also produced. The ceramic art we make is very thin and lightweight but strong enough to be used in the microwave and the dishwasher. Our colors are vibrant and available either in a gloss or matte finish. Our goal is to provide our customers with functional and artistic ceramic artwork that will can be used today and possibly passed on to future generations.
