Kristen Elizabeth Art

Born and raised in Fairfield County, CT, I developed a love for art as far back as I can remember. I attended Massachusetts College of Art & Design : majoring in Industrial Design. Graduating into the 2008 recession forced me to change my plans, and ultimately led me to start a business, SplatterBox, a children's art studio. In 2018, I was struggling with how to manage my emotions. I needed to find a way to express myself, and painting was the perfect medium. Staring at a blank page or canvas - I found myself creating intuitively, I couldn’t paint fast enough! My paintings started dark and wild and eventually evolved to reference past memories and emotions. I’m now working on the progression of what I’ve come to call psychographics. The term comes from Psychography - a practice of automatic writing used in psychology. I paint quick / spontaneous, releasing and getting internal emotions - out. Who said pain can’t be beautiful?
