Aasiri Wickremage

I am a self-taught Sri Lankan born British artist. My work is mostly inspirations of places of travel and landscapes I see on a regular basis. As someone who has studied architecture, I am completely captivated by the interesting compositions the manmade structures create alongside the natural landscape. The techniques of painting is predominantly based on the medium I use on each piece. Almost every painting is built on many layers of colour and texture to bring out the character and the temperament of the space and landscape: later the painting is picked out in little details and silhouettes, I feel are the important features that attributes to the landscape.
