Andrew & Dana designed a terrific beach house for us taking into account our current life style & tastes. Part of the home was designed specifically for one of our hobbies of collecting carousel animals for display & we couldn’t be happier with the results. Our beautiful beach dream home is tasteful & unique.

It has been my privilege to work as a client with Andrew Montgomery on several projects both commercial and residential. He came to us at a critical time. Our previous architect had not performed satisfactorily and we had to sever our working relationship with him. Andrew’s ability to quickly pick up the pieces mid-stream proved to be a godsend. As head of the design committee it was important for me to have a successful working relationship with Andrew. I was firstly impressed with his people skills. From the very beginning he proved to be very warm and friendly, a good listener, comfortable with all of us on the project. This was in stark contrast to our previous architect and it contributed greatly to the team working well together. Further, Andrew demonstrated a very high degree of expertise and professionalism. We hired Andrew Montgomery to design a vacation home on the coast. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Andrew listened to our needs and wants and produced a relaxing vacation home where he was able to maximize the peaceful views of the coast. “Almost every day, we look at our dream home on the North Oregon Coast with appreciation for Andrew Montgomery’s distinctive Asian-style design. Andrew Montgomery whizzed through the Type II Environmental Review and designed a stunning Northwest home for us in SW Portland. He was the most competent, professional and optimistic architect we found in our extensive search. He positioned the house to is utmost advantage on our complicated and steep lot. The lot in SW Portland was not only steep, it had environmental overlays and design overlays and other restrictions which made dealing with the City of Portland and getting approval for the building permit very difficult. The challenges he faced getting the permits seemed, to us, insurmountable; but Mr. Montgomery was easily able to maneuver through the bureaucracy and negotiate a plan which included our criteria, the City's constraints, challenges of the terrain and compatibility with the ADU. Mr. Montgomery made the home-design process fun and informative and was open-minded about exterior and interior design ideas, sustainable building options, our lifestyle requirements and topmost design for the Portland market. Our house is much admired by the neighborhood and everyone who sees it. We'd definitely call Mr. Montgomery again in future without hesitation.

Andrew took the time to first meet us on property vs in his office to personally view the site while meeting with us. Then both Andrew and Dana took the time to fly to our current home at that time to see our tastes to better understand our wish list for architecture and interior design. We now enjoy our beautiful custom home.

Terraforma Architecture worked with us to design our home on the Oregon Coast. Andrew was excellent to work with and thorough, getting our detailed input and giving us realistic advice as he drew up the architectural drawings of our home. He greatly respected and incorporated our vision into the drawings. He understood that we would only require his architectural design services through the drawing phase and once the actual construction began, our builder would be in charge of this phase. We were creating a new home while living on the East Coast and Andrew was very accommodating of our travel schedule, making himself available to us when we were in Portland and on the coast. He even presented his first set of plans in our home in Maryland while he was traveling east. Andrew's vision, understanding of our needs for this home, and flexibility contributed to creating the perfect home for us.

We hired Andrew Montgomery to design a ~1000 sq ft addition that was added on to our A-frame house in SW Portland. The addition is sort of an octagon shape that contains 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living area, a kitchenette, and and a space for a water heater and washer/dryer. Above the addition is an outdoor space where our kids can play and I can put my flower boxes. Andrew said that this was one of the most technically challenging additions he's ever done given the steepness of the slope that our house sits on as well as the unique design and layout of our house. I can still remember Andrew's words "this addition is not for the faint of heart" as I recall the large digging trucks barely clinging to the steep slopes and preparing the earth for the foundation. Andrew was there every step of the way from start to finish to make sure the project was completed to the highest of standards. We couldn't be happier with the final product and highly recommend Andrew and his wife Dana for any type of architectural project. You won't be disappointed.

Andrew took our hodgepodge of ideas and turned them into a stunning beach house. We relied heavily on his knowledge and expertise as we had no prior experience in either designing or building houses. We wanted to capture the ocean view and the light and he gave us all that and much more. He listened to all our ideas and faithfully tried to implement them in the plan. He was always professional, prompt in answering emails and phone calls, kept to his timeline and stayed within our budget. His enthusiasm for our project never waned and working with him was an enjoyable and enlightening adventure. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
