Steve Rose Architect is a boutique Melbourne-based firm specializing in contemporary, sustainable architecture & design. Our practice focuses on working with clients to achieve their objectives in the most effective manner, regardless of the size or complexity of the project. We prefer a holistic approach to the provision of services so our clients benefit from an efficient, seamless end-to-end process – from initial project feasibility & planning advice to schematic design, design development, town planning, contract documentation & administration, through to completion and hand-over. Interior design is an integral part of all projects – from selection of furniture & finishes to final project delivery. We can provide all of these services. Early engagement of an architect is key to the success of any project. If you talk to us at the outset, we can assist you with developing the brief and ensuring you have all the key steps covered. We firmly believe no project should be undertaken without rigorous assessment & analysis, and a well-documented master plan.

We are thrilled with the renovation Steve designed at our beach house. He transformed the top level of a 30 year old two story cedar house into a stunning, modern, bright area that optimised our view of the sea while keeping the "beach look". He cleverly attached a lift to the exterior of the building so that it harmonised with the exterior. He totally redesigned the area which included a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom and added a powder room. We used many of Steve's suggestions to maximise the view. The project was punctual and pleasurable and to budget. We were always well informed and had regular meeting. Cost restraints were accepted and options were offered if necessary. Steve Rose Architect completed a 12 month renovation of our home in Middle Park. Steve was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was always available, on time and nothing was too much trouble. He shared our vision and excitement for the project and clearly understood our needs. Steve's ability to maximize space still amazes me today. My favourite is our on-suite bathroom - a very small space that looks substantially bigger with the use of floor to ceiling mirrors. I love his appreciation for natural materials and the beauty and warmth they create. Steve has exceptional taste and fast tracked the decision making process on all of the interiors, making a difficult job so easy. We plan to add a new living space to our home and have no hesitation hiring Steve Rose Architect to do the job.

Steve Rose is a great guy and fabulous to work with. We used Steve to help us with the design of our Elsternwick home. We completely renovated an original 1970's home and needed help with design in several areas. Steve is a good listener and communicator. He solved quite a few problems we were having with the layout.
