SKM have been fantastic from the very beginning. They helped us design our dream extension and incorporated everything we asked for. I would highly recommend them if you are getting any building works done.

The team at SKM (Sanjay in particular) have worked with us from the outset to convert a 1920s house that had not been updated since the 1960s into our dream home comprising of a traditional look and feel at the front to a more modern contemporary look at the rear. This was a full renovation, back to the bricks with only 2 original walls that were untouched. From the beginning, Sanjay was here on-site giving suggestions and guidance to our project and despite the numerous adjustments we made along the way, the amendments to the final plans were made quickly and efficiently. Despite covid and the lockdowns, our full renovation project gained momentum and the team at SKM was always at hand to support our builder with design queries and also the building regs team at the end of the project for the final sign-off. We could not be happier with the service we received from SKM and I would thoroughly recommend that you at least reach out to SKM for any of your future building projects.

SMK design has been very helpful in the all process of our house extension and renovation. Extension of our two bed house is nearly complete. We have worked with SKM Architects from the planning stage to completion and the team have been really friendly and professional. We hired SKM for a downstairs extension project for our disabled brother. The work included converting a separate garage building into a bathroom, building a connecting extension to the main house and building out the front of the main house to seamlessly connect to the new extension. SKM covered everything from architecture, project management and selecting and managing the builders. The planning was most important for this project where we had to consider the needs for our disabled brother who would be spending 24/7 in the room, but SKM did all the heavy lifting with regards to accessibility, practicality and liaising with the council to ensure we fully covered our brothers needs. They also ensured the designs were modern, but also in keeping with with the original property. SKM took the stress out the project for us as they fully dealt with the builders, invoices, schedules and inspections. This held the builders to account to ensure costs remained in line with the original contract and to ensure all parties were informed and happy throughout the whole process. The completed extension looks fantastic, built to a really high spec and we are very happy with the end result. We would definitely use or recommend SKM for any future projects.

Absolutely excellent service from the minute go from 1st visit to measurements, planning of architects drawings, to meeting with the builder introduced by SKM Architects Midlands Property Developers Ltd who took on our project. Throughout the build inspection was arranged by SKM & builder we never had to worry about anything as it was all taken care of including extras, concrete pattern patio area, underfloor heating to letting us use Howdens to source our kitchen and doors which look amazing as now we have an amazing kitchen for our family to enjoy. After contacting and having onsite consultations with 5 different Architects in the Leicestershire area, we decided to use SKM. It was instantly obvious there were a much more professional company than the others, offering advice and suggestions from the off rather than just asking us what we wanted, we don't know what we want, that's why we are looking for an architect! Initially I though the price was rather high, but on reflection now it's all complete, it was well worth spending a bit extra. Throughout the process SKM listened to our requirements, no matter how often we wanted to change things or make tweaks, this was not an issue. The designs and ideas presented to us were inline with what we wanted and ticked every box of our requirements from the first draft design. The tendering process was also easy, it was all organised by SKM, and they only tender to builders they have used previously and have had good reports on. The project management once the build starts was where I was most surprised by SKM involvement and eye for details. With seemingly weekly visits checking up on everything, it really gave me reassurance the project would be a success. Now we have moved back to our home, we are over the moon with the result, and the project has made a real positive impact on family life. I have no hesitation recommending SKM to anyone.
