Self+Tucker Architects share a vision of what architecture in Memphis and the Mid-South should be. Architecture goes beyond buildings — it impacts people, neighborhoods, cities, lives. That’s why we built a team of committed professionals all dedicated to the same mission — to design a better Memphis. As proponents of environmentally responsive design and construction, it is our in-house mission as well to reduce the waste of resources and energy consumption. We have taken several simple steps towards this goal and are glad to share it with others. In the past years, we have radically reduced our paper consumption by taking advantage of digital editing and storage as well as double-sided printing. Our staff is committed to the use of reusable cups and bio-degradable paper plates. As part of our eco-friendly initiative, we have also arranged for paper recycling at our work environment, which has engaged both our commercial and residential neighbors to contribute to smart post-consumer practices. Our awareness of sustainable resource management is an important part of STA philosophy and we learn from our clients as well as the surrounding community.
