Our firm was founded on the belief that architecture has the capacity to help shape one’s experience in and of this world. Our projects, big or small, public or private, for the rich or for the poor, all engage the public in a meaningful way and leave a lasting impression. Continued growth is vital to the development of our work. We are constantly re-evaluating and repositioning the work as the world around us changes. Change, in our own work stems from an intense exploration of all the complex social, cultural, political and technological issues that influence each project. Innovation and a never-ending inquiry are at the forefront of every problem presented to us. Extensive research and analysis along with the implementation of new technologies, new fabrication methods, new means of construction and new materials yield a relevant, forward thinking architecture. The context from which each project is situated is deeply interrogated. It is through the process of uncovering the imbedded potential coupled with pursuing larger cultural ideas that result in very specific solutions. The architecture reflects the inherent conditions of each client, site, program and budget. Our body of work is diverse. Projects range from robotically carved interiors to hand crafted masonry structures; from post production spaces in Hollywood to prefab homes in the woods of Maine; from small scale gallery installations to urban interventions at the scale of the city and from Villas in China and on the North African coast for His Highness Sheik Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to our affordable housing projects for people living with HIV Aids in inner city Los Angeles. Our work is as multiple and various as life itself. We are not bound by an ideology or defined by a method, we are committed to expanding, pushing, rethinking, retooling and rebooting; whatever it takes to continue to create relevant, well crafted, meaningful experiences.

Patrick designed our house starting from and existing California cottage of 1 floor to a modern and more functional 2 floors house. The design is, by the lack of words, beautiful, it took only few weeks for him and his team to come up with the final results of the design, showing me all the steps that were done to motivate the final project. He was with us every step of the way, helping the dialogue (difficult) with the contraction company that we chose. The interior existing 1st floor was remodeled as well, with a clear attention to everyday life of a family of 4, without compromising the astonishing look. Patrick was also extremely helpful in the process of permitting, since the rules of the city were very hard.

Patrick Tighe designed my home from the ground up 14 years ago. I had a few challenges that needed addressing. I have a small lot and a large art collection. The house has to work for two of us and our 4 dogs and accommodate a lot large scale art. Patrick heard us and designed the perfect balance of hanging space, scale and living space. The house won the AIA Design Award the year it was completed and has been published in over 20 magazines and books. It is amazing on so many levels. We actually just hired him again in 2015 to do a complete remodel/update on the house and we're currently under construction. There is no better than Patrick, he is smart, he listens, he has a strong point of view and he has an esthetic like no other. I am a realtor by trade and have seen hundreds of homes in my 28 years of selling, I think Patrick is among the top architects in the Country.

Patrick Tighe completely remodeled my mid-century home in 2005. We kept the entire original building and design while developing a new ultra modern living space on a second floor. The design blends in the hilly neighborhood and open canyon vistas while assuring privacy. Every place has a sense of communication with the city and ocean views. The home won an AIA award, has been featured in architectural books and was part of a MOCA exhibit. The modern lines blend the interior into the exterior and then into the hilly environment Mr. Tighe stayed involved in all stages of the project from demolition to completion not only to maintain the architectural standards and integrity but to see to the quality of even the most minor details of construction. He worked with all the subcontractors as well. You can be assured he will stay with his projects even to the future. I enthusiastically recommend his services.
