We interviewed several designers/architects to design a somewhat complicated new building for us. The new building would house a garage, guest suite and music studio - three very different uses; and it needed to fit in with and not overpower an existing, yet to be remodeled manufactured home. AND, if that wasn't enough we wanted it to honor our usual modern-bauhaus aesthetic - but fit in with a rural, Texas ranch environment. Ed sat with us for about 2 hours and listened, didn't say much and then that same night sent us some "rough sketches to see if you like these ideas." OMG - they were perfect. He captured everything we wanted - and we hired him the moment we saw how well he incorporated everything we told him. We wanted to talk to him about remodeling the existing double-wide. He told us "don't even think about this now - you've just moved in - live with it 6 months to a year and then we'll talk." He was absolutely right. To top it all off, about 3 months in I wanted to do some minor work before we even considered a major remodel. I called Ed but he couldn't come out to visit due to a family emergency, but he remembered the room well enough to make a minor change in what I wanted to do that saved the project from being a disaster. My husband and I look forward to working with Ed when we do start the remodel of the main building.

I worked with Ed on design for my beautiful mountain home. His expertise in layout, amenities, and specific requests was excellent. This being the first home I had ever built, I anticipated some hiccups along the way. I could not have been more wrong. He was able to incorporate every request, and anticipate design details that I didn't even know I wanted! Our relationship with Ed Churchman began about 5 years ago when we embarked on a home-building project in South Fork, Colorado. As our architect he was very responsive to our wishes for the house and it turned out to be an excellent design for our family. He worked closely with our builder to produce the detailed plans and structural components that were required for the sloping lot and made multiple trips to the job site to both answere questions and give advice as needed. We have enjoyed the house over the past 3 years and continue to be thrilled with its design and functionality. We would recommend Ed without reservation and would use his services again should we decide to tackle another building project.

Ed was hired as my design expert / Architect and was responsible for design & plan creation of our new home.
