Miller Architects is an RIBA Chartered Practice established in 2005 to provide architectural services in London, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and Kent, especially in the districts of Wealden, Mid Sussex, Tandridge and Sevenoaks. The practice is committed to design excellence achieved through active collaboration with clients and other consultants. We aim to deliver beautiful, flexible, marketable and environmentally sustainable buildings, interiors and urban design. We approach problems wherever possible with new ideas and a fresh outlook. We are committed to design of the highest quality which is both contextual and contemporary. This contextualism allows us to work creatively with historic buildings of all periods and styles. Our creative problem solving is intended to result in projects of distinction which unlock the potential of a site and maximise value for the client even in the most complicated situations. We purchased a property in the Ashdown Forest which had an uninhabitable bungalow needing replacing. We hired Iain to design an eco house that would seamlessly fit into the forest location and allow us to take full advantage of the views of the site. Iain delivered a design that was right on our brief and ticked all of our boxes. We feel like he went above and beyond throughout the design process. He also assisted in liaising with our local council for a pre planning meeting in which he was able to communicate our ideas and plan to the planning officer in the right way which meant the meeting and feedback was very positive. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Iain for any custom design project and will no doubt use him again in the future if we need to.

I contracted Iain Miller to manage the installation of a new copper roof and design a loft and garage conversion in my spacious bungalow. He was absolutely amazing at every stage. He is efficient, thorough, knowledgeable, creative, methodical, friendly, patient and very experienced so you’ll be in very good hands. It made the process so much easier and the result was outstanding and greatly increased the value of my property. His brilliant idea of installing a spiral staircase which just fitted perfectly into the only space available, made the property look ultra modern. He also had other really creative and interesting ideas. I would highly recommend him and will certainly use him again in the future. He also provides architectural and estate planning advice for the local community which is maintained to a very high standard.

The house was enlarged without the 'footprint' being increased. The ground floor living space was extended upwards into the large unused roof void via the new spiral staircase and the ground floor integral garage was converted into an extra bedroom. All under a new 'standing seam' natural copper sheet roof which gives the house a completely new look. You were a first class client.

We have worked with Iain Miller for a number of years and have provided Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering services on many of his projects. Iain does provide a full and comprehensive design service from planning to construction.

The project involved building an annex to a character property. This was our first experience of a build, Ian explained the process fully, listened to our requirements and created plans that fitted the brief whilst being sympathetic to the existing building. Ian advised us through the planning process and supported us with communication with the local planning department. We were guided through the tender process and have been very happy with the builder recommended by Ian. The build was at times challenging, hampered by last winters wet weather and then the Lockdown in March, during this time Ian regularly visited and supported us with decisions during the build. Ian's knowledge and expertise gave us confidence and we now have an annex we are very pleased with.

Iain designed our garden room that replaced the old victorian outside W.C and coalstore which was part of a larger project to redevelop the outside area including a garage,paving & decking area. We really appreciated his support throughout the build as it was our first building project.We had to overcome some unforseen problems which he helped us to negotiate

After 1 0 years of trying myself to get permission to park my car outside my property, I instructed Iain to help. Planning was granted for a complex vehicle turntable, the process was seamless and Iain was on hand throughout the application and build process. Iain went the extra mile when he helped me with an enforcement appeal. We went on to win that appeal. I have used Iain since and will use him again.

Many architects tend to over speculate what the client can and can not afford within there budget, Miller Architects will give you a realistic specification on what the client can afford. Iain was recommended to me by another architect - I couldn't have been more pleased. He understood the brief, designed a beautiful home from a very disjointed house. The project was managed brilliantly, he kept a close eye on everything. Attention to detail is second to none - possibly sometimes annoyingly so to the builders, but for me a huge asset. I am thrilled at the end result, have been asked many times by neighbours and walkers who was the architect. I would highly recommend Iain to anyone.
