Macht Architecture providing architectural design services to clients seeking sustainable, energy efficient, healthy homes since 1990. Our goal with each new residence, renovation, or addition is to translate the clients dreams and needs into a design and structure that creates an enhanced and sustainable relationship to the landscape and in the case of an addition, to the existing structure. Passive solar design and a tight, well insulated envelope help inform the design and construction detailing. Sustainable healthy materials, great indoor air quality an energy efficient heating and cooling system, are incorporated into our environmentally sensitive designs.

The construction cost of our projects range drastically as we have designed as small as a bird house all the way up to multi million dollar homes. The architecture fee varies depending on complexity of the project and amount of detail in the design, typically reaching around 10% of construction costs.

We worked with Kyle first in 2012 on our original house design and then enlisted his help again in 2018 for an addition. Both experiences were fantastic. Kyle is very responsive to the client and has great ability to take the client's perspective. He doesn't simply cater to a client; he helps you identify your vision. Then with some creative insights he makes it better! His calm demeanor and adaptability keep projects moving along smoothly and quickly.

Chauncey Powell

Kyle and Paul helped me update a 1980's passive solar house with a very inefficient floorplan into a more usable and open floorplan that works for my family. During the design they incorporated many energy efficient upgrades over what was existing and educated me on what products and options were available. Not finished the project yet but we are very happy with the results so far.

Working with Macht was very easy. Paul and Kyle were very respectful of our desires for the project and our budget. They were very active throughout our project and would check in with the contractor on timeline and to make sure each step was being done correctly and according to the plans.

Paul and Kyle did a great design for a house on an island they (and most) cannot visit themselves. They listened carefully to our needs, concerns and description of practical issues at the location and came up with a design that is beautiful, functional in the location and was approved easily by the regulatory authorities. They spent quite some time, including several in person discussions with us to work out details. There computer modeling tools and expertise were very helpful in the process. A good experience.

Thank you for your kind review. This was probably our furthest project away and definitely a fun one. We had to do a bit of research to know the local building methodologies, which were quite different than our typical wood framed homes in the north east.

I recently completed a near gut renovation to my 100 year old house. I used Macht Architecture, as they came very highly recommended, and I had seen several projects they had designed. Working very closely with Macht, we finished our major renovation project, earlier than projected and under budget. This was due to the professional job that Macht Architect accomplished.

Comentado: hi, I like very much the rustic floor, where could I find it?These pavers can be made out of concrete, either poured in place or as precast pavers. You can also achieve a similar look with stone pavers.
