For the loft conversion of our modern terraced house in central London in 2009, Le Lay Architects designed an elegant space which combines sleeping, sitting and work areas. Previous loft conversions in the terrace had used Velux windows which lie flush with the roof surface. Le Lay Architects were the first to suggest the use of dormer windows on the rear slope of the roof, which greatly increased the available and usable space - others have since followed. They were very supportive in our successful planning appeal through which we obtained planning permission. When it came to construction, Le Lay Architects identified a highly competent and skillful contractor who completed the project within budget and within the very tight timescales which were available. They gave well judged and tactful supervision during the construction process. Over a decade later, we continue to be delighted by this very flexible and practical additional space. Originally designed for an undergraduate son, it now accommodates his family on their visits. The quality of construction has stood up very well. It is always a delight to deal with Jason and his team and they have been very helpful with occasional routine maintenance and renewal and local planning issues which have arisen from time to time.

Firstly it is just so great to have Jason and his team based in our neighborhood, Old Chelsea, they understand with first hand experience the requirements for Chelsea. We worked with Jason and team to renovate the front of our home and our adjoining neighbours. It was a simple but complex project, involving three homes, historical achitects, planning permission and skilled moulding and rough iron craftsmen. The project was managed very professionally and the final execution exceeded our initial ambitions.
