GMArchitecture LLC is a full-service architecture practice located in Portland, Oregon, founded by Garrett Martin. GMArchitecture maintains deep connections to its Pacific Northwest location, actively participating in the ethical evolution of the City while harnessing the surrounding natural forces and landscapes to cultivate a powerful sense of place. Operating in the seam between innovation and inevitability, the practice is devoted to the un-quantifiable traits that define uplifting places, and to the ethical obligation involved in their creation. A licensed architect in the State of Oregon, Garrett Martin has maintained over two decades of experience, developing expertise in a wide variety of building types and sizes. In addition to professional practice, Garrett has served on the faculty at Portland State University and the University of Oregon since 2001, teaching design studios, and courses in building technology. Garrett earned a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and a Bachelor of Arts from Claremont McKenna College.
