Jay had a passion for architecture when he was in second grade. He started his design career early in high school and during junior college working on everything from custom homes, auto assembly plants, hair salons, apartment complexes and commercial centers. After moving to Chicago and getting his degree in Architecture he worked designing restaurants, museums, residences and movie productions before heading to Florida to chase his true dream of working at Imagineering at Walt Disney World. Although that dream at Disney never came true, Jay's creativity and design talent found him getting the opportunity to work in South America on hotels, resorts, theme parks, retail centers and high rise projects before getting his opportunity to be the design manager of Universal Studios. His career at Universal started with his oversight of all design and construction installations in the park including restaurants, retail, graphics, signage, sets, attraction refurbishment before moving into working on specific attraction project teams including: Men in Black, Revenge of the Mummy, Universal Express, KidZone and Twister. Jay started his own design practice still working on theme park type projects but also custom residences, retail, restaurants and hotels. He was quickly offered a full time job at Hard Rock International after being hired to create their internal hotel design standards. For over a decade Jay was in charge of the design and development of Hard Rock's hotels all over the world and the creation of the sub brands inside those hotels including clubs, restaurants, golf course, pools, kids clubs, entertainment venues, spas and casinos.
