Fletcher Crane Architects are RIBA award winning architects based in Surrey, passionate about innovative, crafted and thoughtful architecture. Design skill, communication, organisation and deliverability are key components of our service. We design for delight and longevity, implementing an architecture that is not rooted to a particular moment but one that transcends fashions. We are intuitive, enthusiastic and energetic designers and thrive on intensive dialogue. We are dedicated to providing our clients with a personalised, high quality, bespoke architectural design. Each project is unique and we pride ourselves on being friendly whilst listening carefully to our clients requirements. We adopt an open, engaging and collaborative approach to the design and construction process. Using a variety of mediums to communicate ideas quickly and effectively, including immersive 3D software, we develop clients’ briefs clearly and carefully to enable projects to exceed expectations. Our rigorous design process emphasises the importance of evolving strong narratives; notions that are evident from conception through to completion.

We have been working with Toby and Carmine of Fletcher Crane on the design of our family home plus a garden outbuilding in Surrey. Their designs have been innovative and beautiful but they have also worked with us on a practical level to realise our dreams. Project ongoing but so far, so good!

We worked with Ian, Toby and team to turn our downsize Victorian villa into modern layouts that worked for life post retirement but could still accommodate three returning children when needed. Multi functional spaces, woods, concrete and granites and exciting zinc clad shapes at the rear while retaining the traditional streetscape realised the dream; nicknamed the origami project as the look evolved, the planning journey and works took three years and to remain friends with your architects and eventual builders through all the issues we had to deal with is a testament to their pragmatic approach and attention to detail. We have already sent friends their way and we hope they too are proud of the home they created with us

Structural Design Studio

As structural engineers we regularly work with Architects in and around London and can’t recommend Fletcher Crane highly enough. We have worked alongside them on several projects and have first-hand experience of the value they can bring to a project, and the excellent service they provide to their Clients. They produce well considered schemes with great attention to detail to meet their Clients brief. Their industry knowledge is brilliant which allows them to provide invaluable guidance throughout the design process. They have a friendly, approachable attitude and translate the technical aspects of design to ensure the Client is well informed throughout the process. All-in-all a great practice to work with.

Finding an architect to handle a personal project when you live 6000 miles away is a challenge but from our first meeting with FCA it was obvious we had selected a firm that was professional, committed, trustworthy and understood the brief from the ‘get-go’.
