We are an enthusiastic and professional chartered, architectural practice established in 2004 by directors Mike Etchingham MCIAT and Adrian Morris RIBA. Prior to forming the practice Mike and Adrian had already gained a wide range of experience and developed skills in other private practices and in local authority working on residential, educational, commercial and retail projects. Based here in Ringwood with projects across the south of England, commissions have taken us to other parts of the United Kingdom as well as abroad and we work regularly in London. Commissions undertaken include individual private houses, speculative and affordable housing schemes, ecclesiastical, educational and commercial projects. This range of projects has also involved working on historic buildings including Listed Buildings and in sensitive locations. As a practice we believe passionately in the importance of the built environment and its ability to positively influence people’s daily lives both aesthetically and functionally. We approach each project, whether large or small, with an identical philosophy; this is to achieve the best possible architectural solution responding to all constraints and opportunities a project can present. We recognise that our clients are all unique with individual requirements and that different site contexts call for a specific response. Consequently, we approach each project without preconceived concepts or a stylistic straight jacketed approach to design. We recognise that good design stands the test of time regardless of the trend of the period. We believe in a collaborative approach to a project where all can share a sense of ownership in the creative process. Experience has shown us that good teamwork is the best way to exceed our clients’ expectations and achieve satisfaction for all. This extends to our working relationships with other professional consultants, contractors and craftsmen/women. Retaining a focus on the quality of detail is as important to us as the creation of a potent concept.
