Hello, I'm Ellen I am a licensed architect and mentor, and I help homeowners renovate or build their dream home while getting them a clear understanding of what they want. This way, they can upgrade their house to fit their life while creating a design they love that reflects who they are and increases the value of their space. I love giving people clarity on who they are and what they want so that they can go on to create incredible memories and moments in their space or home. I help my clients gain the necessary skills that are needed to feel more in control over their residential construction project. All while removing the anxiety and overwhelm as my team and I help them design and create the home of their dreams.

Ellen has been a godsend on a gnarly, long running project. Thorough, focused, and communicative, Ellen has made the process of finding the right solutions for our 127 year old house so much simpler. Her sense of style and ideation for ways to meet our goals was always on point. She listened to our concerns or ideas, and would work with us to find the right solution. Early on in the process, Ellen made sure to get every measurement, every detail, so that as we continued through to plans, she was always ready to make those small, silly changes that we homeowners inevitably want to make. While we're still in the midst of our project, I have no doubt that things will continue smoothly because of Ellen's expertise and thoughtful attention to detail.

I enjoyed working with Ellen. After she took measurements of my whole house, made preliminary design sketches, met with me numerous times to get my feedback, and incorporated the survey and engineering plans into the mix, she gave me a set of plans. After we made changes to those plans and incorporated our suggestions into the work, she was able to provide me with a new set of plans that I could use to get bids for my renovation. Ellen is the ultimate professional and I would highly recommend her for any design build project or renovation.

I pretty much knew want I wanted to do with my project. I warned Ellen I knew enough about architecture to be dangerous. Ellen recognized my requirements and was instrumental in identifying other considerations needed for the project. Included was a need for a code variance (setback). I was informed by the city, before starting the project, a code allowance(variance) was not required. Ellen’s code research was right. A code allowance was required. With her help, the review board approved the code allowance request unanimously. Our project involves bumping the attached garage eight feet to allow for a utility room between the garage and house. The design includes moving the washer and dryer out of the basement. As simple as the project sounds, there is a lot involved. Ellen listened to my wife’s concerns and ideas on the project. Together we achieved a very efficient design. We are now in the permit and construction phase of the project. I am looking forward to Ellen’s input. Ellen deserves your serious consideration.
