Eifler & Associates Architects is an architectural firm that concentrates on achieving a balance of both new design and restoration projects. The firm was founded in 1990 and enjoys a variety of commercial, institutional, and residential work. We recognize every piece of the built environment as a part of the history of the place – it is our goal to evaluate all components of the existing conditions without preconceived ideas. We seek to enrich our projects through selective removal and adding new layers to the existing historic fabric. It is our firm belief that well - designed environment improves the quality of its occupant’s lives. To achieve this we pay attention to detail, make surfaces and parts pleasant to touch, spaces comfortable to live in, and buildings easy to use. The participation of a contractor or pricing consultant at the design phase of a project is particularly valuable. Craft & Detail: Experience with a variety of building types and architectural vocabularies, has led to an understanding of both traditional and current building technologies. Every project is conceived with a respect for traditional building techniques and the manner in which they can be used to respond to the context of the site and regional climatic conditions. Conservation: It is our goal to provide economically and ecologically sound solutions. To attain this goal, we utilize existing structures to the greatest extent feasible. We strive to use healthy, natural, ecologically and economically sound building materials. Energy conservancy is sought through choice of materials, building operating systems, construction details and sensible overall layouts.
