Chris is a fully Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists with over 16 years professional experience. During the 16 years, he has provided the full scope of architectural services on a diverse range of commercial, conservation, residential and educational projects. CJA can offer full or partial services, tailored to your project needs from inception to completion. Project types previously undertaken vary from highly successful small-scale home extensions through to large scale one-off residential dwellings. This includes works to Listed Properties as well as extension and refurbishment works at schools. We worked remotely with Chris from abroad on a two-floor extension to a semi-detached house. He guided us through the design and regulatory processes flawlessly, listened patiently to our requests and produced a design with which we are extremely pleased. Furthermore, he has been very responsive, has advised us to take preemptive steps to avoid future complications and made suggestions to improve the design. We got planning permission within 7 months and he is now helping us with engaging contractor quotes. Extremely good value for money.

We used Chris to help us with our kitchen extension project and internal alterations. He was very professional and informative throughout the whole process. As this is the first time we have carried out any building works, we were unsure of the process and steps involved; Chris was very helpful in explaining everything to us, and his responses by email were always very quick. The architectural drawings produced by Chris were very detailed; something which builders have also praised and commented on. I would have no doubts in recommending Chris.

We have ended up with everything we want from our renovation. The space internally is perfect and our feature windows really give the wow factor and set us apart from other properties in the local area. Chris was attentive, responsive and creative throughout the project. Thank you

We have instructed Chris for a re-design of the first floor, two dormers and family bathroom. He’s worked with us throughout to adapt the design to ensure it fits our family and to make sure that we could obtain planning permission. He is now guiding us through the tender process. Chris is very pro-active, always quick to respond to emails and deal with any issues. We’re not planning to do another big project soon, but if we were we would definitely use Chris!

We found Chris purely by chance and a miscommunication between ourselves and architects but we really fell on our feet. His attention to detail is something rarely found in architects these days. We sailed through what was expected to be a difficult planning process due to Chris's methodical approach, he had thought of everything and had it covered. As you progress through your build you will find that every stone has been lifted, inspected and carefully placed back. We had our disagreements but they were amicably discussed and resolved to our satisfaction every time. We are extremely happy with Chris's design and thorough process and would highly recommend him.

We found Chris on Houzz when looking for a local architect to assist with the planning and building regs package associated with the conversion of a listed office building into 2 x residential flats. Chris's communication throughout has been first rate, as has the speed and efficiency of his turnaround. More than that, we have been impressed with his attention to detail on the tenders and in ongoing discussions, and he has taken the communication with the council (with regard to discharge of conditions etc) off our plate. As a result we can't speak highly enough of Chris's work, and will use him again on forthcoming projects.
