Thank you to Jim Farris Cabinets for our beautiful new kitchen cabinets. Jim had previously built new cabinets for both of our bathrooms, so we knew of his professionalism and that his work is top quality. His suggestions for ways to improve the overall look of our kitchen and to increase the amount of cabinet space without increasing the footprint of the cabinets in the kitchen has been the most surprising and delightful part of the project. It is so nice to work with a contractor who will answer your calls and take the time to respond to your questions. His team showed the same professionalism when they installed the cabinets. They were very careful with the cabinets and all surrounding areas and left everything clean when they were finished.

Jim came highly recommended by a builder we had worked with previously. We presented Jim with a very challenging project. We wanted a custom rolling, folding office table with a large, hinged table drop-leaf that can be placed within our cabinet or pulled out and expanded for meetings. The trick was that we wanted the table to look seamless when the leaf is dropped and seamless when the leaf was raised. Jim's solution was to build a rounded hinge out of the tabletop’s solid walnut. He also solved the counterbalance issue of having a heavy drop leaf by integrating an elegant steel plate into the bottom frame. This was truly a unique project. Our table is one-of-a-kind. Jim's craftsmanship and eye for detail are bar-none. More importantly, I'm convinced he can make any idea happen. He thought through our list of wants and customized a piece of furniture that become a work of art. We cannot recommend Jim Farris enough.

I have used Jim Farris cabinets for several projects over the past year. Most recently we made modifications to the cabinets in our kitchen. Jim came out to the house and was able to guide us in to modifications that would give us the biggest impact. He created a custom island cabinet, refaced a few cabinet doors, added corbels and glazed the existing cabinetry. I would recommend Jim for any project where quality and craftsmanship is important to you.

I must say that before I write this review, I am still in the arduous process of arguing with my insurance company on whether they should pay for new custom cabinets as a result of an inside water damage claim. I do not wish this on an enemy. However, I needed someone to turn to that could appreciate the quality of my cabinets and I found Mr. Jim Farris. He was prompt to his appointment and his knowledge of Cherry wood and the effects of water upon them was beyond impressive. It did not take him long to explain to a lay person [Me] exactly why the cabinets could not be de-stained, sanded and re-stained as the insurance company desired and what would happen in the way of further damage overtime because of the water exposure. Nevertheless, he painstakingly determined the total square footage of such a job and provided a quote for same so I could send it to the insurance company. Then, he quoted what the replacement cost would be. Another thing that impressed me about Mr. Farris was his ability to readily admit the quality of work of the original cabinet maker. It takes a real "grown-up" to admit that another's work is of high quality as well as his own. I look forward to the end of these insurer negotiations so, one day, I can experience his work first hand. I recommend Mr. Farris without reservation.

We engaged Jim and his crew to help us with a few special projects for our new home. (We kept expanding the scope as we were so pleased with their work!). They constructed a beautiful live-edge walnut bartop, a custom wine storage room, a barn door, and a custom walnut table to fit a niche in our game room. In each case, the quality and the attention to detail were wonderful. Jim made suggestions in each case that enhanced the functionality and beauty of each piece. We moved into a new home about a year ago. Unsatisfied with our existing dining room buffet and unable to find a satisfactory one to purchase, we began investigating custom solutions. After researching local cabinet makers, we decided to email Jim Farris Cabinets. Within a day or two, Jim called and we discussed our needs. Jim came to the house, saw the space we were working with, listened to our conceptual ideas (our taste is modern/contemporary), and began proposing designs. After settling on a conceptual design, Jim proceeded to complete the detailed design, emailed it and a cost estimate to us for approval, then began work. After a few weeks, John and Jose installed the completed buffet and wall mounted shelf units, doing attentive, meticulous work. We couldn’t have been happier with the end product. Beautiful, high-quality buffet. A few months later, we again turned to Jim for a TV console/feature wall. Holy Cow! Jim had outdone himself! Unbelievable artistry and quality! 100% satisfied! For those considering using Jim and reading these testimonials, I will say this: Almost all the reviews are outstanding. They are legitimate. They are not hyperbole. Jim built custom cabinets for both of our bathrooms. He is very professional, knowledgeable about his craft, & helpful throughout the entire process. The work was completed on budget and within the time frame agreed upon. Our Cabinets Are Beautiful!! The workmanship is impeccable (doors line up, finish is even & smooth, everything fits snug with no gaps, etc.). His installers are professional & courteous. Nothing is bumped or scratched & everything is left clean when they are finished. We hired Jim Farris cabinets for an island in our kitchen and for an entertainment center in our den area, Jim Farris cabinets completed the job in a timely manner and with very high quality materials. Jim Farris and his team did a wide variety of custom cabinetry and millwork at a house that I recently renovated. They built a custom bed complete with a leather work head board, suspended side tables, and a beautiful platform. They built a dressing table and two custom dressers, a new vanity for my master bathroom, and even a shower bench. In my office, they built a beautiful suspended desk table and cabinets with pull out drawers. Finally, they replaced my kitchen cabinets, television cabinet, and bar. It was a very big project, but Jim and the team always delivered what they promised and the work is unimpeachable. Jim takes a lot of care to do things right, and provides good advice on the trade-offs along the way. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Friends, Our project is a custom structure in a rural Texas setting with detailed architecture. The home is very modern (rustic) and successful aesthetics depended on superbly crafted and integrated cabinetry which Jim Farris cabinets (JFC) pulled off beyond expectation. Jim Farris Cabinets has built multiple projects for me or my firm over the years beginning in 1986. I have never been anything but pleased with his products and services. For example, in 1986 he built my desk which is a 23 foot combination desk and credenza for which even today I receive compliments from clients.
