Cliff Cole Architects Limited

For the last thirty years, Cliff Cole has left a unique and innovative stamp on a series of diverse and often revolutionary architectural projects. Whilst only in his second year as an Architectural Design student, Cliff was appointed as a Project Architect for Lister Drew Associates, running a £6 million pound office development in Chatham. Then, shortly after graduating, Cliff was given the responsibility for the Engineering Faculty in the new, Harvard standard Riyadh University project in Saudi Arabia. Since then, Cliff has enjoyed the satisfaction of playing key roles in major projects worldwide. The most notable include a pioneering low energy hospital in the Isle of Wight, redeveloping London's Gucci store (now DKNY) into a revolutionary four storey retail unit, Consultant to the refurbishment of Holborn Underground Station, designing an Airport in Oman, and managing a ground breaking development to convert the existing structures of Colditz Castle in Germany into a hotel and leisure complex. The project, aided by the World Trade Centre and Trafalgar House, gained Cliff much admiration and he was later invited to run the Berlin office of DEGW as Managing Director, and act as adviser to the Berlin Senate and Germany national land agency. Cliff has also worked in the Planning Department in Southampton City Council where he learned many of the skills which have been so useful in obtaining planning permissions for his clients ever since! A property development in 1985 was to be the first of many successful residential projects that has allowed Cliff to balance stylish urban living with practical, flexible space to suit the changing lifestyles of so many.
